About Us

The Leah Rose Residence for Senior Citizens of Nashville is a modern apartment building of 17 floors, designed to provide the opportunity of sharing the company of their neighbors and still enjoy the privacy of their own home.

This beautifully designed building is located in a residential neighborhood in walking distance (2 blocks) of churches, restaurants, movies, shopping center, and bus line. Several colleges are nearby. For convenience and pleasure on-site parking is provided. There is a beautiful garden area for walking and a covered, protected walk-around on the top floor.

Eligibility

All citizens who are 62 and over may apply provided they are able to maintain themselves in a living situation. Applicants are limited to those whose income does not exceed income limits determined by regulations of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Financial Arrangements Apartments are available on a priority basis. When applicant is approved for occupancy a security deposit in the amount of one month's rent is required. The resident will sign a one year lease, renewable annually. This can be cancellable upon 30 days written notice by either the resident or management for cause. Applicants may call for an appointment to view the residence and obtain an application.

For Safety and Convenience

Additional conveniences to make living more enjoyable include: beauty parlor, library, lounges, a meeting and party room with kitchen, laundry facilities and two elevators.

A security system is on the front door at night and a 24-hour emergency call system is in each apartment. Staff are on duty 24-hours per day for emergencies.

No facilities for medical care are provided. Tenants will continue to be served by their own physician. An emergency lighting system is installed in all hallways in case of power failure.

Services and Activities

The Leah Rose Residence makes available services through other agencies to assist residents to live independently. These include weekly trips to area grocery stores by local churches and to malls by MTA, eductional and informational seminars, and volunteer opportunities.

A resident’s association hosts monthly functions for the residents.  Residents meet weekly for bingo and other games.  Other programs are made available throughout the year.

Each unit has an entrance foyer, wall-to-wall carpeting, adequate closet space and hardware for draperies. The tenant provides the draperies which must be lined in white. Individual storage lockers are provided at no additional cost. The all-electric kitchens have a range with hood and refrigerator with frost-free freezer. All units are TV Cable ready; at the tenant's expense.

The tile bathroom has a built-in vanity and shower in tub with safety grab bars. Each unit has individually controlled temperature.
