Laurelwood nursing home is the most unprofessional and nastiest nursing facility that i have ever been at MY GOD!!!!!! Just awful!!! For one the have people with covid mixed in with other patients that don't have covid and don't get me started on how they treat their patients, one time they left a patient without oxygen for 30 minutes and left another patient sitting in urine overnight until the next morning!!!! And other patients just be freely walking into other patients rooms stealing their belongings and all kinds of stuff and also the staff there are so rude!!! No empathy or care in the world for any of their patients just unprofessional as hell I wouldn't even send my worst enemy at Laurelwood nursing home ever they make patients wait for pain medication until the next morning and they don't check on the patients when the patients ring the nurse button just awful and very very unprofessional i beg yall if you love your love one DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT !!! Send them to laurelwood nursing home in elkton md.

Review of Laurelwood Care Center Former Nurse, Nearly 30 Years of Experience UPDATED REVIEW I am updating my review to include a serious incident involving a resident fall that was completely mishandled by nursing staff. A resident fell under the supervision of a nurse who is responsible for updating care plans and should absolutely know better. Instead of reporting it, assessing it, or following basic protocol, she pretended it didn’t happen and continued her day as if no emergency had taken place. A GNA later informed me of the fall, and when I tried to hold staff accountable, suddenly people wanted to backpedal and “forget” what they told me. I notified several members of administration. Nothing happened. No follow-up. No urgency. Just silence. I escalated it to the nurse practitioner and the doctor because the resident was slowly, progressively declining. Only after I intervened did anyone decide the resident deserved proper medical attention. If I hadn’t spoken up, the decline would have continued unchecked. Instead of taking responsibility, the nurse became angry at me for holding her accountable. She tried to talk at me like she was above reproach, then tried to make a scene, then flipped into victim mode. All in the same breath. It was unprofessional, performative, and dangerous. This isn’t an isolated incident. This is a facility where accountability evaporates the moment it becomes inconvenient. Staff hide incidents. Administration ignores them. Residents are left vulnerable. If you are considering placing your loved one here, I strongly recommend reviewing the facility’s state surveys and their history with incident reporting. With nearly 30 years of nursing experience, I have never seen such blatant disregard for resident safety. Families deserve transparency. Residents deserve protection. Neither is consistently upheld here.

If I could leave a negative star I would... this place is ungodly! as a pervious employee I will tell you do not bring your loved ones here!!!! they may seem welcoming but as soon as you leave they no longer care for your family member. their reaction time is not there.. ( meaning an emergency is NOT an emergency) they are neglectful and abusive. I have seen more fights between nurses and residents than resident on resident (tho that is there too). numerous of times I have come into my shift and my whole assignment was soiled and appeared to not be touched. when notified by higher ups they do NOTHING. they chase out the good ones that point out their neglect and abuse. not to mention the DRUG USE!!! residents are able to free will get drugs and come back into the facility with them. again when higher ups are notified they do NOTHING!! residents are nodding out in-front of the building and smoking marijuana. staff members are also outside doing all of these things as well, drinking, smoking, ect. the atmosphere is very "ghetto" and unprofessional. your family members needs WILL NOT be met.. and they will be ignored. laurel wood needs to but shut down!! if you want your family member safe, taken care of and most importantly heard... DO NOT GO HERE!! sorry for the rant but it has to be said! :)

I advise to anyone who cares about their family, to not leave them in this facility . The fact the my loved one was left in pain for hours and left in her bowels really infuriates me , the fact that you tell your patients your short staffed and that’s why the care from your facility is not 100% we don’t wanna hear that . As I said above you care about your family / friends pick a different place , this one looks like a dumpster fire occurred.
