Regrets. Over medicated for "combativeness" caused by their lack of training, and underfed/ starved. I always felt uncomfortable visiting, and I was there daily to 4-times a week. If you point out anything wrong, Keleigh quotes you legal jargon to make every excuse for why issues happened. Care plan was a joke, and they did not update it with changing needs. They can't keep a Wellness Manager employed. Never took accountability, even when there was a flu outbreak. My LO did not get any meds for 24 hours when throwing up and shaking - that's how I learned they do not give as-needed meds. They serve food in very tiny portions, then go talk to each other and play on their phones. They do not watch if residents eat or pay attention to if they can feed themselves. My LO lost 5 pounds a month for multiple months! One caregiver recently yelled, "Feed yourself, I'm not going to feed you". I had to start going everyday to make sure my LO was fed and hydrated. There is no "memory" care tactile engagement and rarely music. They cater to TRU Medicaid recipients and under-serve those who private pay. Even the "good" caregivers were uninformed of care needs, and not trained for memory care, plus there was high turnover. Wish we had moved out a lot sooner!

I've worked in the senior industry for 16 years. I've had numerous clients at landmark and I can't say enough about the amazing care they provide. I've had clients in almost all facilities in Boulder county and the Denver metro area and Landmark stands out as one of the best! Can't recommend it enough!

Landmark is in a league of its own! It's a small facility with friendly, caring staff. Everyone knows everything and they all seem to care deeply for the residents. I feel that they are run with love and compassion, rather than the almighty dollar. I'm so grateful to have placed my loved one with them!

My father was a resident at Landmark Memory Care in Lafayette, CO, and I visited at least twice a week. From the very beginning, I had serious concerns, but did not want to speak up as he was new and still adjusting. On Day 1, the staff suggested sedating him. Within three weeks, he was placed on three new medications. I received repeated calls about his "bad behavior," yet no one contacted me about his rapidly declining physical condition--his weakened gait, poor stance, or the fact that he lost 10 pounds in one month.<br><br>The first and only meeting I had with his care team and the Director was not to collaborate or problem-solve, but to tell me he had to leave. He was never given time to adjust to the medications they pushed, and I was given just three weeks to relocate him--an incredibly traumatic and destabilizing demand for someone with Alzheimer's.<br><br>The Director was unable or unwilling to listen or offer solutions. I personally had to print out new signs for the front entrance as they were falling apart. The lack of effort, communication, and basic compassion was shocking. Landmark may work for residents who are either very high functioning or completely incapacitated, but if your loved one falls in between--and you have high standards for care--do not make this mistake. They deliver a strong sales pitch, but the quality of care and communication simply does not match. There are a few excellent staff members (not the director), but for the most part, I have never seen so many staff members do the BARE MINIMUM.<br><br>Moving someone with dementia is one of the most traumatic things you can do. Keliegh, the director, handled it with alarming indifference.
