This is a beautiful campus, not just apartment buildings. The staff is friendly and they maintain an immaculate facility.

I have lived at Lake Port Square for just under a month. I moved here from Pebble Springs in Lady Lake, FL. Pebble has amazing curb appeal, but beyond that it did not come anywhere near providing what Lake Port offers.
Let me elaborate. Lake Port has a magnificent 78 acre campus which features beautiful walking trails lined by huge oak trees adorned with Spanish Moss. While walking, one will see significant wildlife and encounter many species of birds. There are beautifulky manacured flower gardens with benches maintained by the Gardening Club. The property has a dock which sits on magnificent Lake Harris. My mornings often find me sitting on a chair with a cup of coffee admiring all that the Lake has to offer. I also love the boat rides on Lake Port's pontoon boat. I've been on 2 -4 hour trips, some passing through several of the Chain of Lakes and the Dora Canal. Compare what I have described above to Pebble's land-locked facility with little natural beauty.
Another feature of Lake Port that attracted me was the restaurant-style dining. I have the choice of eating in three different facilities, all table-served. Two of the dining rooms are more formal, and take reservations. The food is excellent, and the choices are abundant. The informal dining facility features soups, salads, sandwiches, flatbed, and pizzas. Contrast this with Pebble Springs cafeteria style dining in one large dining room. Food budget was also a major consideration As a prospective resident at any Senior Living facility, it would be wise to ask how much of the monthly rent is allocated to food. At Lake Port residents have $510 per month (or $17 per day) for food. When I left Pebble, the food allocation was $7.61 per person, per day. I have yet to find a Lake Port resident who uses their entire food allocation in a month. Most end up buying pints of ice cream, pizzas, or flatbreads for their freezers with excess dollars.
A third feature that made my decision to move to Lake Port a no-brainer is transportation. The community has multiple busses, vans, and sedans which are available 7 days a week. They have a very generous 30+ mile range for medical and and shopping. The vehicles are constantly on the road. In addition, the Lifestyle Director can take 1-20+ people for a trip, each and every day. I was once the only person that showed up for a Saturday show. Guess what? They took me in a sedan. Unfortunately, Pebble Springs has only a 10 passenger bus for transportation, and it only operates Monday through Friday. Though Pebble has a fantastic Lifestyle Director, she has severe limitations and can only use the bus one day a week for trips.
I am so much more content at Lake Port. It's everything that I hoped Pebble might be, but wasn't. Here I walk outside every morning with a walking group, play with a shuffleboard group, play bocce, and boat for scenery or outside dining, etc. There is more to do than a day permits.
You will find the marketing people to be straightforward and thorough. They will encourage you to talk with existing residents/staff and to ask questions. The Executive Director is very engaging, and many staff members have been here for years. To top it all, the residents are abundantly friendly and welcoming. So, my life is a dream come true at Lake Port Square.

We had a wonderful experience at Lake Port Square. Karen welcomed us immediately at our first visit with friendliness and love. She is warm, knowledgeable of LPS, understanding of our personal situation and friendly with all residents we met. We met with her several times in the last couple months and her demeanor never changed. She's a gem!!! Thank you, Karen!!!
