There is not enough words to express how wonderful this facility is and how much all the workers care. My 81 year old mother had a rare disease and I am so grateful that we found this place. So hard working, compassionate and willing to do whatever it takes to advocate for their patients. Everyone was amazing, but special thanks to Dani, Jen, Izzy and Gigi for everything that you did for my mother and our family.

Serious concerns — unprofessional, unsanitary, and in need of immediate leadership change I am writing as a concerned family member/visitor who experienced ongoing problems at McLaren Lake Orion Nursing Home. My observations include: Unsanitary conditions: common areas and resident rooms appeared poorly cleaned; food presentation and quality were consistently unacceptable and sometimes smelled/tasted spoiled. Care staff issues: several CNAs and housekeepers demonstrated unprofessional and apathetic behavior; tasks were often rushed or left incomplete. Housekeepers were frequently reassigned to do CNA work, creating role confusion and gaps in proper care. Leadership and supervision: there is inadequate supervision on weekends and no clear clinical oversight. The Director of Nursing and administration appeared distracted by internal personnel issues rather than addressing care and safety concerns. Discrimination concerns: I observed behavior from some supervisors and staff that felt discriminatory and biased toward residents and family members. This created a hostile, unsafe environment. These issues pose risks to residents’ health and dignity. I urge McLaren Lake Orion to investigate these concerns, improve cleaning and food safety protocols, ensure staff are working within proper roles, provide consistent weekend supervision, and address any discriminatory behavior immediately. (Statement reflects my personal experience and observations.)

Lake Orion nursing and rehab used to be a place that everyone wanted to go for care whether it was for yourself or a valued family member. Word of mouth was how most of my peers became connected with the facility as it was seen as a vital component to the community. As of late however, I could not be more disappointed and displeased. This place has turned into a dump and I would never recommend to any of my close friends. Care is horrible as nurses and aides are short staffed. You pay all of this money to still have to care for your loved ones yourself or else they’re neglected. Food is terrible. No one in management knows what they’re doing and never has answers for anything. Everyone is always pointing the finger at someone else. I can say therapy and activities here were amazing. Other than that, if you truly care about your loved ones pick a different facility, it’s not what it used to be AT ALL!

I can not say enough good things about the staff at this facility. From the receptionist welcoming the visitors in, to the nurses, aids and supporting staff they were very helpful with my mothers care. The nurses and aids would come in and chat with my dad and I, and check on my mother even if she wasn’t one of there patients. They cared about the residents there. And they would ensure that my mom got the best care possible. I would like to personally thank Artiesha for her help in helping my mom to drink more water. Denise in just being there and checking my mom all through the night. Heather for finding my mother's ring, and all the other aids, nurses and physical therapist and occupational therapists also. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone. 5 stars in the care is not enough.
