I spent 12 days here after knee replacement surgery. Excellent physical and occupational therapy everyday. The RNs manage your meds on schedule and cheerfully, especially Maybell. The CNAs are well trained and so caring, especially Fabiola, Cameron, Anna, Jasmine, Xochietel (Soshie), and Sylvia. The concierge, Zoila, was so helpful and attentive to my needs. Beds need improvement but do everything they can to make you comfortable. Good place!

this is a top-notch care center. My mother is there now recovering from a fall and I highly recommend going there if you need it, and if they have a spot for you. It's a smaller facility and the staff to patient ratio is ideal. They really care and the staff is excellent, smart and pro-active. The facility is spotless and modern. The kitchen is great and all their meals are surprisingly varied and tasty. Great PT, OT and Speech therapy throughout the day. They are super professional and great to work and interact with.

It seems like every review of a skilled nursing facility is five stars or one star, only the extremes, from "this place saved my mom's life" to "this place killed my family member." Researching these places is so stressful because it's hard to know who to trust. My 98-year-old grandmother spent two months at Lake Balboa Care Center, and it was the best possible place for her during that time. We visited multiple skilled nursing facilities in Los Angeles before deciding on it, and we fought her insurance company for her to go here, and it was absolutely worth it. It's smaller than most similar facilities, which already changes the vibe. The staff is kind and wonderful, and she grew close to several of them. I was there almost every day for two months, so have strong, informed opinions about almost every aspect of the Lake Balboa experience. The food is good, the place is clean, quiet, and well-maintained. Medication management and physical/occupational therapy are organized and consistent. She left much stronger than she came in, able to walk without her walker for stretches for the first time in years. The courtyard is a nice respite, they have fresh juice by the front door, and fresh pots of coffee by the courtyard door. She played Bingo every chance she got. During her stay, there were a couple disruptive people. They were handled with care and patience, like everything else they do. I met the administrator of the facility on the day before my grandmother was set to leave, and said all of this to him directly. They work hard to make it a safe, caring place to be. Nobody's perfect and no facility will be either, but I have no complaints and wholeheartedly recommend it to you and your family.

I can't say enough wonderful things about Lake Balboa. We relocated there after a horrible experience elsewhere. I felt my mother was so safe and well taken care of. I never worried about her. I actually visited 2x each day, morning and night so can attest to the wonderful, loving treatment all of the residents are receiving from nursing, CNA's, PT, Activities, Social Services, etc. My mother actually wanted to do a drive around the facility in her wheelchair to say goodbye when we left. If you have the frightening responsibility of having to choose a skilled nursing facility from a list they hand you at the hospital, Lake Balboa is the choice to make!

My grandfather was a patient at Lake Balboa Care Center for a few weeks, and our family is truly grateful for the care he received. The nursing staff was attentive, responsive, and consistently compassionate. They took excellent care of all his needs and made him feel comfortable and supported throughout his stay. Shaina (PA) is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and kind. She helped out my family in so many ways and we will forever be grateful to her!! Brianna (CNA) was so kind and quick to respond to my grandpa’s needs. She constantly checked in on him even when we didn’t call for her. She is truly so caring! Cecilia (LVN) and was also extremely attentive and made sure that my grandpa was always cared for. Zoila helped us tremendously with the information and guidance we needed to get him back home. She made the transition back home smooth, seamless, and stress-free for our entire family. Thank you all so much!
