About Lafayette Rehabilitation

Lafayette Rehabilitation is a skilled nursing and long-term care community in Marblehead, Massachusetts, with a licensed capacity of 65 residents. The facility serves those recovering from acute events and those requiring ongoing skilled care.

Families consistently praise the attentiveness and clinical competence of the nursing and therapy staff. Multiple reviewers highlighted personalized admission processes where staff called to learn about residents' specific needs, and therapists created respectful, encouraging environments during rehabilitation. One family noted that despite the facility's older decor, the familiar aesthetic actually provided comfort to their mother with Alzheimer's disease. However, one review raised a serious concern about staffing responsiveness during an urgent moment, describing a lengthy wait for assistance when a resident needed immediate help.

Lafayette holds a 3.8 out of 5 rating across 12 Google reviews. Families consistently emphasize the quality of direct care from nursing and therapy staff, though potential residents and their families should weigh this against the facility's age and the mixed experiences reported regarding responsiveness during emergencies.

I just wanted to express my gratitude to the staff at Lafayette in Marblehead where my father is residing. The experience with this facility has been positive since his initial admission to the rehab. Specifically, I appreciated the calls I received from numerous different staff upon his admission who sought to learn more about him and his needs in order to provide him with the best care. Since entering long-term care, his health has improved and he has regained strength, in spite of being 100 years old. Administration, nurses, aids, physical therapists — all of the staff we have encountered have been wonderful. The facility itself is homey, clean, and well maintained with fresh flowers, clean linens, and more. Of all the facilities we have been to, this is by far our favorite.

My mom is in full time care at this nursing home. The staff at this nursing home is incredibly skilled, attentive and caring. While the facility is outdated and needs renovation, the older decor actually provided comfort to my elder mom who has Alzheimer's disease. If you are in the process of moving a loved one into a care facility, remember that it is more important that there are good caregivers than beautiful carpets. And that they are likely older than you and their tastes are different than yours. The activities coordinators, the nurses, the aides, the housekeeping staff, the physical therapists, the social workers are all incredible here. It is a small place with big love. Know that even though you are afraid and are inclined to complain as we all are when we are feeling a lack of control and grief, your loved one will be cared for best here. Try to be a nice person yourself - all people respond best to this.

My Father was here, and l found him in a really bad situation, and l call the nurse to help him and his respond was we need to wait for 30 min because his nurse it was at lunch. The other nurses were standing there, hearing us , and no one came to help. And l asked him, if you found your father in this situation , what would you do? And his respond to me was ‘okay , you can report me. I told him, l am not here to report you, l need your help from you and from your staff here, that’s is what l want. Nursing finally came but they seemed upset at me.

As the Administrator of Brookhouse Rest Home, we have had many residents whose families have chosen Lafayette for their loved one who needs more skilled nursing care . Every single one of them has been happy with the care that Lafayette provided. The staff are wonderful and the support of the patients is great. I would highly recommend.
