La Secoya de El Castillo

La Secoya de El Castillo is an independent living community in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with guaranteed access to assisted living, nursing care, and memory care services located nearby. Residents choose from one- or two-bedroom apartments with private balconies or patios, high ceilings, open floor plans, and in-unit laundry.

The community offers a Life Plan agreement that provides residents with guaranteed access to health care services at the affiliated El Castillo nursing and memory care center. Residents can live independently with support available 24/7 when needed, while maintaining freedom and autonomy in their daily lives. A specially trained and caring staff works with each resident to create a personalized care plan.

El Castillo's nursing center provides licensed nursing care and rehabilitation services for recovery from injury, illness, or surgery. The Garden at El Castillo, located downtown in Santa Fe, is the city's only dedicated memory care center, serving residents with Alzheimer's, dementia, and other forms of memory loss. The memory care center features 11 studio apartments and a lush outdoor courtyard garden.

Life Plan service fees at La Secoya offer tax advantages; IRS rulings allow a portion of monthly fees to be deducted as a prepaid medical expense, a benefit available only through Life Plan Communities. Additionally, La Secoya services are exempt from New Mexico gross receipts tax.
