There are just no words to adequately describe the care of my relative that was in that facility. Without any exaggeration, the amount of time the employees are on their phones that I witnessed watching You Tube videos, movies and of course scrolling through Facebook and especially while my relative waited 25 minutes for someone to come help him use the restroom was just unbelievable. We tried to give the facility the benefit of doubt as I am sure they are understaffed but those residents who are in there are not in there by their choice. Please extend some compassion and help both to the residents and to getting the staffing needed...... The administration from the top down was of no help at all when we had situations that needed attention they just seemed to be immune to it all - it gave us the impression that it was just a job to them. Things were promised that were to happen with no follow through and when addressed all the responses were "that's not my job, that's so-so's job", we could never find the right people to talk to. We witnessed police presence several times from complaints that were filed for various reasons. It was unfortunately after my relative was placed there that we saw the 1.5 star rating from Medicare.gov or we would have looked further. There were a few of the kind hearted aides that did their best to help make life a little easier but they were in the minority - most were pretty rude and just didn't care. It's just a sad case any way you look at it. This was our first time working with any nursing facility and it certainly was an eye-opener - we did really try to put ourselves in the facility's shoes but there was just too many issues that could have been resolved quickly and easily if someone just paid attention and cared.....
