About Kemp Care Center

Kemp Care Center is a 124-bed skilled nursing and long-term care facility in Kemp, Texas. The community serves residents requiring medical oversight and daily assistance, including those transitioning from acute care settings and those in hospice.

Family experiences at Kemp have been decidedly mixed. Positive reviews consistently highlight the genuine care and attentiveness of direct-care staff, particularly CNAs who families describe as compassionate and engaged with residents. Activities, therapy services, and the physical cleanliness of the facility receive praise from satisfied families. However, negative reviews raise serious concerns about supervision and responsiveness, including reports of delayed check-ins for high-acuity admissions, insufficient monitoring during night shifts, and alleged instances of neglect. Some families have also noted administrative challenges with billing and lost personal items.

Kemp Care Center holds a 4.0 rating on Google across 48 reviews. The stark divide between five-star and one-star assessments suggests that experience at the facility may depend significantly on individual circumstances, staffing patterns, or unit assignment. Families considering placement should carefully discuss care protocols, staffing levels, and communication procedures with leadership before admission.

Very clean and does not smell like a lot of nursing homes. Most of workers are very nice, however one worker walking down hall was cussing at another worker at desk. Complaints are when they cleaned up patient they moved her tray and knocked her call button to floor and she couldn't reach her drink or call for help. This happened at night so family wasn't there to help her. Told her to quit crying and push call button (it was on floor) They need to be careful and pay attention to those kind of things. Only have PT 1 day a week. Kicking patient out after 2 weeks saying she can do stuff that she can't. If you need rehab go somewhere else, this place sucks. I am reporting to state.

This has to be one of the worst medical places you could leave your loved ones to be cared for. They allow their employees, Tamra Foster specifically, to take home medical equipment and issue it to minors. When I brought this to the attention of HR (Angie or some other A name, she could not be bothered to stop eating long enough to give me her email) I 100% have video and audio proof of everything I am saying!! Please, if you care about your loved one, do not leave them here.
