A very good experience, we checked my father in to the VA Home in Fort Dodge. It was a very smooth transition. Staff was very thorough and helpful in the onboarding process. Nursing staff bent over backwards to help as well. We arrived at 10:30am and they had him situated in his remove before noon. Thank You all very much, The Tucker’s

As a Firefighter I go into a lot of care facilities. I can honestly say this is one of the cleanest facilities. The staff is friendly and the ratio of caregivers to patients is excellent. I highly recommend looking into Kansas Soldiers Home if you have a loved one that is looking for a top quality care facility.

I went to the Soldiers home to observe their practices. I work at a similar facility. So I needed some insight on how they operate, staffing, meals etc.. The first thing I noticed was the Amazing facility! So many things to do and see. Then the staff. They were all very friendly and worked so well together. They are an awesome team. The residents are their #1 priority. They care and it shows. What a great visit! Thank you

My husband was transferred here from another state VA facility so that he will be closer to home. 3 days before his transfer he broke his pelvis. I'm thankful that he has been receiving great care since he arrived. He needs 2 people to help him sit, transfer to his wheelchair and then to the toilet. His CNA's, nurses and other caregivers have been very responsive. One person hunted down the correct remote so that Bob could watch t.v. A gentleman from IT connected Bob's headset for listening to the TV for him. Janet, the social worker has guided me through the transfer and admission process with patience and humor. One of Bob's nurses gave me a copy of his care plan. Watching and hearing the interactions between the residents and the staff reassured me that my Bob is in a place where he will be cared for...physically, emotionally and mentally by compassionate, qualified, staff...who have a great sense of humor!
