Home Instead has been amazing to work with. Our parents had the wish to retire in Maine, away from family, but a place they loved. In 2019 our mom, with advanced Parkinson’s, started needing some in-home assistance and after reaching out to several groups, our in person meeting with Cheryl and Kathy convinced us that Home Instead was our best option. Our mom was a fiercely independent lady, so it was difficult at first to get the right match with a caregiver. Cheryl and Kathy (Stonington ME ) worked hard to make the best match and make changes when needed. Our parents’ care needs increased over time, leading to round the clock in-home care for both parents. Everything was not perfect all the time and that is reality when round the clock care is needed and caregivers get sick or have emergencies of their own, but Cheryl and her team were always working hard to make sure my parents never had a gap in care. We had an amazing group of committed caregivers that treated our parents like family and in collaboration with hospice, provided care right up to the end of life for both of our parents. We can’t thank Home Instead enough for helping us fulfill our parents’ wishes of staying in Maine, in their own home until the end. Thank you!
