I started off with home instead as a care giver and have transitioned to an office position. I have never worked for a more caring company. What a blessing to go from caring for my clients to be able to advocate for them. The owner goes above and beyond for his clients and his employees.

Great place for resources on dementia and caregiving. The support here makes a real difference, and I especially appreciate the welcoming energy from the office manager, Muriel, she always goes above and beyond to help families and caregivers feel confident and supported .

Setting up the service was difficult. At first the sitter was lazy after reporting her instead of replacing her they kept the very unprofessional and resentful sitter Cherry in my home who was too invested in my love life, career and our family. She pretended to have a sinus infection to ignore us when it was convenient. She gave both of us a lot of attitude and she was also super intrusive. She kept telling me I was having a anxiety attack while I was about to have a seizure. Her lack of regard for my health issues, my peace and privacy as a remote worker and the false allegation of elder abuse I would never use this service again. When I called today Michelle told me this company never had a complaint but I can clearly see 2 other complaints in the reviews. I feel bad for anyone who really need help and has to rely on this service. It's only $28 an hour to get a sitter with this company and a CNA typically gets paid around $13 and hour in Alabama. Shop around for people who actually respect you and your parents.

We have been exceptionally pleased with the care given to my husband and I over the past two years. The care givers are compassionate, attentive to the needs of my husband and home, and family-oriented in their approach. Caregivers have offered excellent care in making sure that my husband's medical needs were met, such as making sure his medication is taken on time and offering assistance as he moves around the house -- he has Parkinson's and needs assistance with balance and movement. When there have been a few hiccups along the way, the office staff has reached out to make sure shifts were covered and have scheduled back-up caregivers with the same exceptional care. I am most pleased with the ability to have Home Instead take on the responsibilities that I would have had to do if hiring privately, like hiring and training, covering shifts when caregivers have needs of their own, and paperwork to track taxes, social security, etc. for each caregiver. They have been a God-send to us during a time when stress has been at its highest level. There has been conscious effort by the administrative staff to ensure that there is a good fit between us and the caregivers. All concerned have worked with us when we have reached out with a concern or need. I highly recommend them to meet senior care needs.

I could not be any more pleased with the service, consideration, and reliability I received from Home Instead in Dothan, AL. We loved my mom's caregiver and she loved my mom. Each staff member I came in contact with was absolutely professional--courteous, knowledgeable, helpful, and kind. If our caregiver had an emergency or sickness and couldn't come at any time, Home Instead always provided an excellent substitute. It was such a relief to be able to leave the arrangements in their capable hands, and I never had to feel stressed or worried about who was going to be there for my mom.
