I love everything about Genesee Gardens...today we had a "Carnival" with games and live entertainment that Activities Director, Emma McLean, went out of her way to organize ... making things fun, but challenging, for the seniors, such as myself, to do, while listening to, Mary and Jerry, a musical duo sing songs from the 60's...we won prizes for participating in beanbag toss, or ring toss, while enjoying the beautiful weather outside. Everyone cheered each other on.<br>I appreciate all of the support staff here, and all they do to make us feel welcome: Kay, Adrian, Shari, LaShawn, Kim.. The food is great too...each meal we have a variety of choices: at least four... I love living at Genesee Gardens... Pat Y. 8/13/2026

I've had the worst experience living at Genesee Gardens for the last 3 months and glad it was only a 3-month lease!<br>The place has bugs, like flying gnats and it's winter time there shouldn't be any bugs flying around but they're constantly everywhere in the building everybody complains but nobody does nothing about it.<br>As much money as I pay for rent you think I'd get food that wasn't rationed and allow you only two eggs at breakfast because they run out of food and the only feed a third of the occupants at breakfast because nobody gets up to eat breakfast.<br>When I moved in I was supposed to have a barrier-free apartment and the manager doesn't even know what barrier-free meant and the maintenance man wouldn't provide grab bars and I'm in a wheelchair and they didn't recognize the fact that I was in a wheelchair and needed barrier free. The carpet head padding and I was unable to move in the apartment without being a horrible struggle so what did corporate do they made me pay to remove the padding myself at my cost of $600 and when I moved out they weren't even going to change the carpet.<br>I thought it was state law to renovate the apartment when<br>somebody lives in there and I moved into a dirty apartment that didn't support my needs of barrier free<br>I was here 3 months my rent went up $300.<br>The staff is rude and not very helpful to new residents and they're both famous replies I don't know because they don't want to help I am moving out because I can't afford the rate increase and the promises not being met this has been a very nightmare of a place I have to move because of the bridge loan cost me $12,000 for 3 months which I have to pay back to Elder Life financial which is affiliated Holiday by Atria
