Shameful! Just read a news article that this facility dumped their resident off at a homeless shelter because they lost their health insurance, and didn't even give the proper 30 day notice. "Discharged a 22-year resident with cataracts and diabetes without insulin needles or proper identification after insurance stopped paying."

Federal law says nursing home residents must be given at least 30 days’ notice before a discharge, barring health and safety emergencies. But the patient at Hillsboro, who isn’t identified in the investigation, wasn’t given any. According to his former roommate, facility staff misrepresented the discharge, claiming he’d be going to an assisted living apartment as opposed to an emergency shelter that would only house him for up to 90 days.

Everyone PLEASE read the article posted by WAVE3 (I'm assuming a local Ohio news station) titled "Nursing homes are dumping patients at homeless shelters, federal inspectors report says" According to that article, this facility and many others are guilty of dropping their patients off at homeless shelters while giving those patients little to no information to where they're taking them. Just giving them two weeks' worth of medication and kicking them to the curb. Be very careful when deciding where your loved ones' final days will be spent.

They will speed run the process of your loved ones end of life procedures. If they can't they will send them to a homeless shelter. If you see this " owner " I hope you are proud of yourself.

Since new ownership the changes I have seen here are remarkable. From the ED to the floor staff the care as if they were their own loved ones. Best nursing facility I've ever seen. They love my father and make sure he's always well taken care of. I have nothing but excellent things to say about Hillsboro Health and Rehab.
