Ask Heritage Woods, any HW, the difference between assisted living and assisted lifestyle and get the details. Why? They are NOT “assisted living.” They are ASSISTED LIFESTYLE; at least, this is their claim once your loved one is in. Of course, they don't disclose this beforehand; however, they don't do much medical assistance other than handing out meds. The Assisted Living Awards and recognition they receive is deceptive.

My sister is diabetic, they give her sugar candies. They've taken all foot/leg rests off wheelchairs. 02/08 they took her to Dr appointment and left her in same wheelchair with no leg rests. As they were taking her out to the Heritage Woods bus, she couldn't hold her legs up any longer. Sister was sent out of wheelchair landing on her face. Broken nose and stitches and nose surgery later she's doing better. As of 05/13/2024 there has been no [payments for anything on Heritage Woods part. Over 3 months later and my sister still has a broken nose and having to find transportation to Loyola Hospital. Over 3 months now and still can't breathe through her nose. She has to eat and breathe through her mouth. Heritage Woods so far has taken -0- responsibility for their actions. Taking foot/leg rests off the wheelchairs caused this to happen. Within days of this happening, they did go out and buy a regular transport chair. That's all they've done to stop this from happening again. Heritage Woods of Sterling Illinois needs to take responsibility for their actions, not Amanda Foulks health insurance!!!!

Mom has been here for a few months now and is settling in well. Our Mom and family have been impressed with their level of care, quality of meals, variety of activities, services and cleanliness of their facilities and grounds. They even have a great outdoor area where Mom can get her walking in safely that she enjoys doing when the weather is nice. Her apartment is the perfect size for mom to be able to decorate and live independently but with the care that she needs giving her 6 children and others the peace of mind to know she is in a safe environment. We are lucky to have found such a great place not too far from our hometown in Dixon. Thank you Heritage Woods and all the caring staff!

The staff at Heritage Woods have been amazing to work with. They’ve gone out of their way to make it possible for my dad to have a home there. They communicate well with me to make sure dad’s needs are met and he’s well taken care of. I appreciate them so much!
