My parents just moved in to Heritage Waterside and I can not rate it highly enough. Friendly staff, clean as a whistle at all times, peaceful, tranquil setting with beautiful views. But the most awesome part is the dining and wait staff…. Just amazing! Anything your heart and stomach desires! Each meal is made to order and delicious!

What a special place HW is for seniors! After visiting my mother for 10 days… I didn’t want to leave! I would describe HW as a cruise ship on land!! I have so much appreciation for the love and care they have shown my mother!

UPDATE to review done two years ago. I cannot say enough about Heritage Waterside . They are truly a family, my family and my mother’s family . She is currently in a rehab center due to some medical issues. Three of the MedTec’s came to visit her on their own time. So did the director of activities. I have been in constant contact with Mary, the Executive Director . All I can say is that Heritage is there for you , and your loved one - in any circumstance. THANK YOU HERITAGE - you are all amazing !!!!<br><br>My mom has been at Heritage exactly one week. It took months to move her from an assisted living in another state due to one medical issue after another. Mary the executive director worked with me for months. Before mom arrived Mary was literally under the adjustable bed I bought trying to make it work! She knows every resident and is always kind and helpful. Like Mary , all of the staff from the housekeepers, med techs, and restaurant staff are kind and caring. It shows that attitude comes from the top down. Mom feels welcomed by all of the staff and the other residents.<br>The building is beautiful and fronts the intercostal. It is also immaculate. My moms walker broke my flip flop and I was forced to walk without my shoes to my car. My feet were not a bit dirty.<br>There are three doctors to chose from and they see her in her room.<br>. I am delighted that I found a home for my mom and not a Facility.<br><br>So this is an update two years after I wrote this review. My mom has called her Heritage her home for the last two years. Nothing about my previous review has changed in fact, Heritage has become family, the caring staff is evident from the housekeepers to the dining room to the med techs to the laundry room and the kitchen. Most importantly, I feel that my mom is safe, and has family surrounding her, even though I live close by and visit often. I am comfortable, leaving for vacation or for work trips, knowing that she will be cared for by people who love her.<br>Thank you, Heritage, for all that you do and for creating a family<br>And for treating my mom with respect and love.

My 102-year-old mother (Frances) moved into Heritage Waterside in November 2024, and she has now happily celebrated both her 103rd and 104th birthdays here. At 104 years young, she is thriving and genuinely enjoying life to the fullest — and I truly believe the warm, family-like environment at Heritage is a major reason why.<br><br>As a retired Nurse Practitioner who has visited countless senior living facilities over the years, I can say without hesitation that Heritage Waterside outshines them all. From the moment we arrived, the staff has treated my mom — and every resident and staff member — like true family. That genuine care and personal attention is evident every single day.<br><br>Her studio apartment is kept spotless with weekly cleaning and laundry service. The food is fresh, delicious, and top-notch. Weekly outings (to places like HomeGoods, Bealls, Dollar Tree, and various restaurants for lunch), lively Bingo games, Happy Hour with live entertainment, wine, beer, and snacks — all of it adds joy and engagement to the residents’ lives. On-site doctor visits, a full beauty salon, manicures, and pedicures make life convenient and pampered. And the gorgeous view of the Halifax River from the property is truly the icing on the cake!<br><br>I live just 3 miles away, so I visit at least four times a week. The Alexa in Mom’s room allows me to “drop in” and see her face-to-face anytime, which gives me such peace of mind. Plus, her alert necklace ensures help is always just minutes away.<br><br>I tease my mom all the time, saying, “Mom, you're like the Energizer Bunny! If you keep going like this, I’m going to have to get the adjoining room next door to you soon!” She just laughs — and thanks to the incredible staff here, she really does keep going strong.<br><br>What truly sets Heritage apart is how deeply they care. I’ve witnessed the staff going above and beyond time and time again, treating every resident with dignity, respect, and real affection. at “family” feeling isn’t just a slogan here — it’s lived out daily, and it’s making all the difference in my mother’s golden years.<br><br>If you’re looking for a luxury senior living community where your loved one will be cherished like family, I cannot recommend Heritage Waterside highly enough. We are so grateful to have found this special place. Thank you, to the entire Heritage team, for everything you do!
