Our 89 year old mom recently had another surgery on her leg that left her incapable of standing and walking. We did not hesitate to call Anna at The Heights for their help. This was her fourth time rehabbing at The Heights. As always, the staff was so attentive and kind to our mom. She stayed for approximately seven weeks. Just like the previous stays, the PT and OT staff (Mick, Sam, Max and Kevin) were amazing! They got her walking, dressing herself and performing all her other daily activities on her own. Our family is so grateful for the hard work and professionalism of all the staff. We have recommended The Heights to our friends as they are also dealing with care of an elderly parent. Our family sincerely thanks each and every nurse, nurse's aide, housekeeper, food service staff, admin staff and of course PT and OT staff who helped bring our mom home again!!!

This review is based on a medically fragile family member’s current experience at The Heights Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. The resident is tube‑fed and requires 24‑hour care, yet the facility attempted to discharge them with very little notice and with shifting explanations. One notice blamed nonpayment and “failure to cooperate” with Medicaid paperwork, including a Qualified Income Trust, while another form claimed the facility could not meet the resident’s needs and did not mention nonpayment at all. This inconsistency made it hard to trust the discharge decision. Critical information about the Medicaid process and the need for a Qualified Income Trust was not clearly explained until the same day a discharge notice was handed over. Documents previously provided for the Medicaid application became inaccessible after a staff member left, forcing the family to start over, but this delay was treated as the family’s fault instead of an internal problem. There were also serious concerns about day‑to‑day care and staff attitudes. Repositioning was inconsistent, posted care instructions were not always followed, and unexplained sores appeared on the resident’s leg and knee. Some staff made dismissive comments suggesting the resident was “fine” until family arrived, even though the resident cannot speak and relies on nonverbal communication. The discharge was ultimately rescinded, but only after formal complaints and a request for a state hearing. As of today, 5/18/26, the state is currently visiting and monitoring the facility this week. **Families considering this facility should be prepared to ask detailed questions, document everything, and advocate strongly to ensure consistent care and honest communication. I would NOT recommend this facility at all. Even our Patient Advocate was not impressed with her initial encounter with staff last year!

I want to share my very positive experience with their memory care unit. The staff is attentive, patient, and highly skilled in working with residents who have dementia. I truly appreciate that they treat residents with dignity and take the time to understand their needs. The environment is safe and secure, providing necessary controlled access. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and offers a calm atmosphere. The daily activities are excellent for maintaining routine and improving quality of life. I would highly recommend this facility to any family seeking compassionate and structured memory care.
