As a caregiver and POA for my grandparents, I’ve had to navigate some incredibly difficult and emotional decisions around their care. After a very negative experience in a local nursing home, finding an assisted living facility that felt safe, compassionate, and truly resident-centered was critical for our family. From the very beginning, the staff here helped make what could have been a traumatic transition feel manageable and humane.

They showed remarkable patience and empathy as my grandparents adjusted to a new environment. Like many older adults, they experienced moments of frustration, fear, and resistance during the transition, and the staff met those moments with understanding rather than impatience. They took the time to listen, explain, reassure, and adapt their approach to what my grandparents needed emotionally—not just physically.

The facility itself is clean, well maintained, and thoughtfully run. It’s clear that pride is taken in the environment, and it makes a real difference in quality of life for residents and peace of mind for families. Beyond appearances, what stands out most is the culture of care. The staff consistently go out of their way to be kind, attentive, and proactive, whether it’s checking in on residents, helping with small personal details, or communicating with family members.

Sadly, one of my grandparents passed away while under their care. During that difficult time, the team helped the partnership with compassionate and dignified hospice support. They ensured his comfort, treated him with respect, and made space for our family to be present. Even after his passing, the staff continued to support my grandmother through her grief with genuine warmth and care. Their compassion didn’t end with his life; they recognized the emotional impact on those left behind.

As someone deeply involved in my grandparents’ care, I can say this facility operates with heart. They don’t treat residents as tasks to manage, but as people with histories, emotions, and dignity. I appreciate the ability for them to assist in many of my administrative tasks by following up thoroughly and promptly. I’m deeply grateful for the care they provided during some of the most vulnerable moments of our lives. I would confidently recommend this facility to any family looking for a place where their loved ones will be treated with compassion, patience, and respect.

If you’re looking for a facility that genuinely provides assisted living, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere. My grandmother lived here for a period of time, and I had a security camera installed in her room due to a traumatic experience at a previous facility. What I observed was extremely disheartening and deeply concerning—not based on hearsay or memory, but on actual recorded evidence.

Approximately half of the staff showed a clear lack of compassion and professionalism. Even more disappointing was that this attitude extended to some administrators as well. My grandmother was often treated like a burden for asking for help—whether it was requesting her prescribed inhaler or reporting burning pain during urination. Instead of receiving care, she was made to feel guilty or “needy” for expressing serious health concerns.

On more than one occasion, she was threatened by staff that if she continued calling for help, she’d be left out in the dining room so they wouldn't have to return to her room. This is completely unacceptable and borders on emotional abuse.

One of the most dangerous incidents occurred when a nurse determined that my grandmother needed to go to the hospital due to chest pain and sweating—classic signs of a possible heart attack. Despite this, she was left alone in her room for 14 minutes until EMS arrived. If the situation was serious enough to call 911, why would anyone leave her alone during that time?

She also relied on portable oxygen to get around, and staff routinely failed to turn off the tanks after escorting her back to her room. This led to her running out of oxygen on more than one occasion—making her essentially homebound, unable to leave her room. No one notified me, no one reordered the oxygen tanks, and I only learned of the issue from the security footage audio, where staff casually mentioned she was out of tanks. On more than once occasion, staff also "forgot" to assist my grandmother to meals and did not bring her a tray.

When I brought up these issues in a meeting with the administrators, I was met with zero problem-solving or accountability. Instead, I was told that my grandmother had "too many needs" for them to manage—even though her needs (oxygen support, access to an inhaler, and moderate memory issues) were well within the scope of what was promised when we moved her in.

Adding to the misrepresentation, we were told there would be a nurse on staff 24/7. That changed at some point without us being notified. This meant that if she needed her inhaler during the night, aides often claimed they couldn’t reach a nurse—or worse, promised one would follow up and then never did. My grandmother was left struggling to breathe, alone. Again, the administrator took zero accountability and stated that as an assisted living facility, they aren't "required" to have a nurse 24 hours a day.

To make matters worse, a staff member privately admitted to me that many residents had more complex needs than my grandmother—but since I consistently followed up and held them accountable, the administration preferred to suggest moving her to a nursing home rather than improving their standard of care.

From everything I’ve witnessed, this facility functions more like an independent living environment than an assisted living one. The staff frequently complained about having to provide too much assistance. If your loved one requires even moderate support, I would not recommend this place. I’m grateful I had a camera installed so I could see the truth. Others may not be so lucky.
