Kathy was a life saver. She was clear and guided us to the next step for my dad's future. Tarek was helpful and followed the proper path for Dad's well being. Susan was compassionate and understanding of my mom's situation. The front desk staff was friendly and always greeted us coming and going.

I have never posted a review in my life and I hope this is the last one I feel like I need to post but if I can help someone then I would like to share my experience. I would like to start off by saying if I could give this place a negative rating I would. My experience is nothing short of horrible. At the end of the summer my grandfather went into the hospital with a broken pelvis, he then was sent to this facility to receive short-term rehab. At first glance this place is filthy and outdated. Not to mention they’re completely understaffed, one nurse was in charge of multiple wings of patients so obviously each patient is not getting the proper care and attention that they need. Each time I went to visit I had to track down a nurse to advocate for my grandfather on what he needed and even after doing that we still would wait 30 minutes for someone to even come into the room. To the point where I was performing nurse/AID duties in a place where he should be cared for. It got to the point where he was actually scared for us to leave because no one would listen to him or treat him properly when family/friends were not there. After one week in this facility, he was sent back to the hospital with septic shock because he had a catheter that was not being taken care of. It took one of my family members to raise concerns and make them call an ambulance to take him to the hospital because he was showing symptoms of shock that a nurse didn’t notice. Unfortunately that was the start of a whole line of other issues that he should’ve never had to begin with had it not been for that. All I can say is please don’t send your loved ones here. It is truly not a safe place.

DO NOT CHOOSE THIS FACILITY before a physical tour. Read all you can, Google the facility where you can see any penalties and infractions, and make the right choice for you. lol My experience as a Rehabilation Patient is/was not a good one. FRIDAY, from the time I entered I knew it was not for me. Nursing home patients are roomed with those just in with a couple weeks Rehab patients with totally different needs. And some patients just become accustomed to the old furniture and beds (someone is likely to get hurt on the broken down wobbly chairs). I help anyway I can, even to make it better for any patient however I can, even just giving them communication. I gave up my bed to allow my roommates husband to be on the same room I am a 78 years old Trauma patient with three fractures of my pelvis, who can do nothing but lie flat on my back, when in bed. I was admitted on a Friday Night, an impossible situation with an ancient bed and terrible mattress, my daughter bought in a memory foam mattress pad…. mattress was requested and after a week here it is still being “worked on”. On a weekend there are no administrative staff and there are problems with the incorrect meds on the discharge from the hospital. SATURDAY; I had to refuse meds that I was not to take, PER MY DR who was on call AT THE HOSPITAL. it began with a Hospitalist at City. No PT because it was the weekend, and it was limited due to less staff. I had not even been evaluated yet! I demanded to see the dr here because he was the only one who could change my meds. No one introduces themselves such as, “I am Meg your aide for this shift, etc. SUNDAY;The dr came and changed all my medications to concur with those on my Primary Care Physicians medication record with the adjustments to my cardio and kidney medications. This was done Sunday afternoon. I had wonderful care by my nurse Pete, and aide Kende. MONDAY-MONDAY; meds had not been changed and I went through the same thing again! These meds were not changed until sometime Monday evening, even though the Social Worker and someone from Clerical had become involved. I had to have nursing go to SEE Dr Kelly had changed the meds, and that I already put in for a referral to be transferred to another facility FOR A SECOND time and even that did not happen timely due to all the errors made by Healthcare At Galloway. I lost my bed at an excellent facility because of this, and put in and had a referral issued after involving the client Director of Social Services, a referral was issued to a second new facility!! Since it was done in the evening, I lost yet another day…. We go into weekend again where NOTHING will be done. Oh, it goes on and on! I have now been here a WEEK, no resolve, NO shower as I did not even know about until I asked! I was told by nursing that it would not happen on the weekend and we would see about Monday. Food is not consistent only two good meals…. I did not get fed three meals… did not send trays. It is Monday, and the shortage of staff, as well as nurses and mostly aides has caused total Physical Therapy is the ONLY thing that has gone right! Meals were not served to me on the first Saturday and Sunday… my nurse went to the kitchen to actually get my trays not served, and I ate mine at 7:00 pm when everyone was served at 5:00 pm. Shortage of aides/nurses means late meds, delayed aide response to the PCall Button because there is no one to respond to anything! Delay of request for pain meds that are prescribed “every four hours, as needed”. No assistance to bathroom or back to bed… and this affected ALL patients the entire weekend!! There were major disturbances due to all of this. Aides had quit, some nurses I was told were on double shifts. It was said that the aide issue happens due to pays rate and an aide making more at McDonalds. I don’t know but there is something drastically The only good thing here is PT. They are seperate and beyond the scope of other staff and operate efficiently and most importantly affect my health.

The Health Center in Galloway is a wonderful place for your loved one if you care about quality care and friendly, compassionate employees who make you feel special. My mom is 88 years old and was always treated with kindness and respect. The medical staff is excellent, the nurses and CNA's genuinely care and are attentive. My mother enjoyed the home like setting, private room and especially the garden. The food was very good and she gained a four much needed pounds in her first week there. The PT team was amazing, patient and kind and accomplished a lot in a short time. Dee, the Concierge was so friendly and helpful as was Amanda from the Social Workers office who did everything possible to make my mom's stay a good one. Isabel, the activities director, welcomed us and asked all of mom's preferences to help her adjust to a new setting. Most importantly the Administrators of this facility are experienced and truly care. The Admissions Director Cathy and her assistant Saundra are the best. Cathy helped me to navigate this complicated journey of helping an aging parent.

My husband just completed 3 weeks of rehabilitation. Everything was great! It is very scary when confronted with picking a facility on short notice. The admissions staff were helpful and supportive during the process. The nursing staff, the therapists, and aides were professional, kind and encouraging. I would not hesitate to recommend Health Center at Galloway.
