Hayes Manor

Hayes Manor is a personal care and independent living community in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, located on Belmont Avenue just south of City Line Avenue. Founded in 1886, it serves older adults of limited financial resources with dignified housing and essential services in a non-profit setting nestled adjacent to the Bala Golf Club.

The community offers 12 independent living apartments with bedrooms, living/dining areas, private baths, and kitchenettes, as well as 53 personal care rooms that are spacious with abundant natural light and scenic views. Personal care services include assistance with bathing, dressing, feeding, and ambulation, plus medication administration. All residents receive three daily meals in the Terrace Dining Room, along with 24-hour staff on duty, daily bed linen service, and access to on-premises hairdressing and barbering.

Hayes Manor provides multiple levels of assistance to support residents' changing needs. Level 2 care includes daily assistance with grooming and frequent safety checks, while Level 3 offers 24-hour supervision and hourly safety checks appropriate for residents with dementia or other mentally debilitating conditions. All care levels include weekly physician visits if needed, visiting dentists, podiatrists, optometrists, ambulance service, mobile units for x-rays and blood work, and a Special Care Unit for short-term health needs.

The Activities Office coordinates extensive programming including bingo, exercise classes, yoga, painting and crafts, and computer classes. Regular outings take residents to Bala Shopping Center, Center City restaurants, concerts, plays, museums, dinner theaters, and casinos. The community organizes trips to the Philadelphia Zoo, Philadelphia Flower Show, Atlantic City, and New York for performances, along with weekly shopping trips and in-house entertainment several afternoons weekly.

Located just one-half mile south of City Line Avenue, the community sits on beautifully landscaped grounds with convenient access to public transportation, major highways including I-76 and Route 1, and nearby shopping, medical services, religious centers, and cultural attractions. Bus service stops directly at the front door, making destinations like Center City Philadelphia and Atlantic City easily accessible.
