Guardian Angels By The Lake

Guardian Angels By The Lake is an assisted living and memory care community located in Elk River, Minnesota, situated by the shores of Orono Lake. The community offers 60 assisted living apartments and 30 memory care suites with personalized attention from dedicated staff. Independent living options are also available, with studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units in various configurations.

The community provides three meals daily prepared by in-house chefs in a restaurant-style setting, with refreshments and desserts served throughout the day in an on-site café. A wide range of activities supports resident engagement, including worship services, prayer groups, bible studies, exercise classes, community outings, games, arts and crafts, movie nights, and performances. Wellness on Wheels, a specialized fitness program, offers exercise classes tailored to seniors and is brought into the community weekly. Daily socialization opportunities are available through snack time at 2:30 p.m., dining room meals, and scheduled activities.

Memory care suites blend privacy with security features including secure doors with PIN pad access and the Wanderguard system for residents with wandering concerns. All residents have access to emergency pendons and bathrooms equipped with pull cords. The building is wheelchair-accessible with transitionless flooring in apartments to accommodate walkers and mobility devices, and nurses are on-call 24 hours daily with RNs and LPNs present during business hours.

The community features extensive outdoor spaces including a three-season porch, large covered front porch, and two garden areas for relaxation and socialization. Housekeeping, laundry, and transportation to scheduled outings are provided as part of assisted living care levels. Spiritual programs include Sunday services led by an in-house resident pastor, weekly visits from a Guardian Angels chaplain on Wednesdays, and twice-monthly communion services for Catholic residents.

Residents may personalize their independent and assisted living apartments with personal furniture and decorations, while memory care studios come furnished with essential items. Pets are welcome; residents may have a vaccinated cat or dog up to 30 pounds, provided they can care for the animal themselves. The community also welcomes well-behaved, vaccinated visiting pets. All utilities except phone are included in rent, along with 60+ channels of DIRECTV and complimentary Wi-Fi.
