About The Grove Health and Rehab

The Grove Health and Rehab is a skilled nursing and long-term care facility in Jacksonville, Illinois, licensed for 175 residents. It provides rehabilitation services and ongoing care for older adults and those recovering from surgery or acute illness.

Family visits paint a divided picture. Several relatives describe genuinely warm interactions, noting that staff members greet visitors by name, chat warmly, and demonstrate attentiveness to individual needs. One family wrote, "the staff is always so kind and hospitable, they chat with us, and treat us just like family." Visitors have observed the facility appearing clean, meals served warm when staff coordinate together, and named caregivers (Missy, Cora, Kelsey, Amy, Maggie, Tara, and Ann among them) earning repeated praise for compassion and follow-through. However, other accounts describe serious gaps: inconsistent call-light response times, cold meals for residents eating in rooms, a past case where rehabilitation services were allegedly billed but not provided, and concerns about medical care (catheter care, CPAP use, wound management). Cleanliness complaints appear in older reviews but are contradicted by more recent visitor observations.

Practical concerns around billing and staff shortages also surface in comments. The discrepancies across reviews suggest experience may depend significantly on which unit or staff members are involved and the time of visit.

The Grove holds a 4.5-star rating across 64 Google reviews, with notably more five-star ratings than one- or two-star assessments, though the lower ratings describe serious care and billing issues worth considering.
