Our loved one went to Good Sam in Olathe for their last 2 months of life as their health deteriorated. After spending time in another rehab/SNF facility in KC, we felt truly blessed for the care he received at Good Sam. The level of care and compassion was far superior to the other facility and I believe the main reason was all employees are longer tenured, W-2 employees. Good Sam uses no contractors/no temp agencies and in our opinion, that should be the #1 question people ask when looking for a facility for a loved one. Forget the facility aesthetics, ask if there are any contract workers/agency workers and ask about the nurse retention statistics. At Good Sam, all employees from admissions to social services to nurses to care assistants were all personable and great to work with. Having consistent caregivers in healthcare is important and Good Sam in Olathe was super consistent. We give special recognition to the main day shift nurse Renee who went above and beyond the job description to care for our loved one and to provide consistent communication to us. Navigating our loved ones healthcare issues over the past 5 months has proven frustrating. Good Sam renewed some faith in the healthcare setting with the care they provided our loved one during his last stint in life.

Hoeger House provided my Dad with wonderful care. All of his therapists were excellent and enthusiastic in working with him. He gained a lot of strength and 10 greatly needed lbs while there. The nurses were responsive, helpful and caring. The people in the kitchen were so nice too when we needed to store a refrigerated beverage for him. Social services staff was great too in trying to appeal & then arranging for home health care after departure. The entire team was kind to my Dad & our family during a difficult time. Thanks again to all at Hoeger House! ❤️

I can't say enough good things about this facility. My dad was there until he passed away at 94 years of age and my mom is currently there. All of the staff from the front desk to nurses, CNA's, beauty shop, dining, activities, on site chaplains, etc. are caring and will go out of their way to not only treat the residents with the best care but also communicate and assist with the family very promptly. My parents were very hesitant about leaving their home for a nursing home but have absolutely loved it there. My mom was an RN at a nursing home for several years before retiring and always says how good the care is that she receives and how safe she feels there (she was an RN for over 50 years). With the Olathe hospital across the parking lot you are always assured a fast response in case of an urgent medical need. Even through the COVID-19 pandemic the facility has continued it's first rate care as well as make a priority the safety of the residents and staff. I really appreciate the daily updates during the pandemic and the nurses availability for questions and health concerns 24/7. I highly recommend Good Sam Olathe and you can always sleep good knowing your family member is receiving the best care possible!!

The medical director, Kathy Pierron Chatrand, was on social media saying she supports Brownback's cuts to the elderly and the mentally ill. This is a horrible position to take, and concerns me the top medical official would have so little regard for patient care.
