My husband and I have been patients at Gateway Transitional Care many times since 2022. Our first experience was not the best and left very negative memories even though there were great people we were associated with. Our latest experience was March through mid-April. Many of the great people from 2022 were still there. So what changed? The food definitely was the best we have ever tasted in a skilled nursing environment…it was far above any of our previous visits. The attending physician Dr Trey Rogers and his assistant Mark were exceptional. They listened and followed through with the concerns we had. Gavin Monteath, CEO even gave assistance with helping me bring my husband back in. Gina and Jared with PT were very knowledgeable and put safety as top priority. Kylie OT helped so much in the areas we felt needed focused on. Taylor SP had fun working with him. All the nurses were attentive and very nice. There were so many CNAs that went above and beyond their job description. Housekeeping staff helped keep the facility clean and never complained about how many times they had to help us. Travis took time to help me through a very personal—emotional situation. Angelina was great at coordinating the transition home. So many staff I don’t have the names for; please know you were exceptional with your interactions and help, too. ‘Transitional’ came to mean more than just a place to transition from hospital to home; ‘transitional’ came to show me that this place cares about improving their quality of service and they shined immensely from our first half- a-dozen stays to where I can say with confidence, “there is no place like home but Gateway Transitional Care Center sure made it feel like home.”
