My mom has been living there for about 8 years so far and has enjoyed the best care compared to all the other homes where she has resided. Dale and Suzanne are genuinely compassionate and caring people who make Gallaghers a safe and peaceful place for our elders. It is situated in a big historic Victorian home surrounded by greenery and overlooking Mahopac lake. It feels very homey and not at all institutional. They treat the residents with patience and respect and are totally dependable. I feel at peace knowing my mom is in their care.

My mom has been living here for 8 months. She has dementia. The owners, Dale and Suzanne are not only lovely people, they are dementia experts. Unlike the so called "luxury assisted living", where it may look fancy-shmancy but everyone is zoned out in wheelchairs, Dale, Suzanne and their carefully picked staff, work to keep the people as independent as possible with lots of tailored, one on one care. It's not fancy, it's a real home; cozy, comfy and very clean. I highly recommend this non-institutional, charming home on the shore of Lake Mahopac.
