Would give zero stars if I could . Not impressed. Visited my grandmother you can not only see but smell mold in her room . They obviously just painted over it . My grandmother needed to use the bathroom kid you not took someone 17 minutes to come to her room . The girl walks in on her phone and says “ what you want?” How rude & unprofessional. Smelled like she just smoked weed was very overwhelming. She wasn’t wearing her name tag ignored me when I asked her name. While in the bathroom with my grandmother I heard my grandmother say “ don’t be so rough” the girl says “ you wanna get in this toilet or not “ 🤬 I went for a walk inside facility. Residents sitting in activity room with nothing to do literally starring at each other and the walls . No one in there with them. Came across many dead & alive roaches 🪳 We noticed other parts of the building have a bad smell . After speaking with my family we are looking at other facilities. Looks can be deceiving prime example this place .

My Dad and Step Mom has been living at Pelican Bay for three months, and I can’t say enough good things about the staff and the care he receives. My Dad is blind, and my Step Mom has severe Dementia which means they need extra support navigating daily life, and the team here has been nothing short of amazing. Many moments that really stand out was when a staff member notice either of them having trouble they so lovingly assist and assure I am informed. Instead of just helping Dad in the right direction, they gently take his arm, walk with him, and chat with him along the way to make him feel comfortable and cared for. They also, encourage him daily to stay moving. Helping and re-directing my Step Mom to keep her safe is daily at Pelican Bay. They even remember his favorite seat and made sure it was available for him. It’s small gestures like these that show how deeply the staff care—not just about doing their jobs, but about making residents feel truly seen and valued. The facility is clean, peaceful, and well-managed, but it’s the people who make Pelican Bay exceptional. Their kindness, patience, and attention to detail give our family peace of mind every day. We’re so thankful to have found a place where my dad is treated with such dignity and compassion. Thank you to everyone at Pelican Bay for making such a meaningful difference in our lives. Your care and kindness do not go unnoticed, and we appreciate you more than words can express. Kenyatta thanks for referring us. Meghan thank you for making sure we were accepted and guiding us through the process.

Took a tour was not impressed. Residents nearly hanging out of wheelchairs while staff was sitting and on their phones. Not at all paying attention to residents. Some areas had a urine smell.

This is a late review. I admitted my mother to the memory care unit. I was impressed with cleanliness of the faculty and the supervisor of the memory care unit. The staff seemed attentative and I would find my mother sitting in a chair in the dining room. She was always clean, and I visited everyday. She was not there less than 30 days and I received a call she was unresponsive. They called EMS and she was admitted to the hospital after being in the emergency room. Upon being released from the hospital they would not allow back to the facility due to her not being able to stand on her own. The front office staff I felt was rude during this process. This left me very little time to find somewhere, since the hospital had released her. The memory care supervisor at the Cheri was wonderdul but the office staff needed more sensetivity training. I am undecided whether or not I would recommend this faculty, since everyone's experience is different.
