My mother was admitted to this skilled nursing facility for rehabilitation therapy, and our experience was extremely disappointing. She was only there for four days, and during that time she received just 30 minutes of therapy. On one occasion, I walked into her room and found a CNA in the room with a therapist on FaceTime, which I found highly unprofessional and unacceptable. On the fourth day, my mother became very ill and her blood pressure dropped drastically. We asked multiple times for someone to check on her before a nurse finally responded. When I requested that 911 be called, it became an unnecessary struggle. Instead of immediately addressing the emergency, the nurse handed me a cell phone so I could speak directly with a doctor. The doctor wanted to start an IV without first determining what was causing her condition. After repeatedly insisting that 911 be called, the nurse finally contacted emergency services. My mother remains hospitalized as a result of this medical emergency. Throughout our stay, staff members at the nurses’ station often appeared more focused on their phones than on patient care. During evening hours, it was difficult to find anyone at the station when assistance was needed. Based on our experience, I found this facility to be uncaring and unprofessional. If you are considering placement for a loved one, I strongly encourage you to thoroughly research all available options before choosing this facility.

Focused Care is a good place to come and do rehab. I am currently a resident here receiving rehab here and it has been great. All the employees are friendly and they are taking good care of me. The building is clean and doesn't smell. Everyone has great customer service. I would recommend this facility.

We chose this facility based on a friend’s recommendation that the care was excellent. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. I arrived with my mother at the scheduled time provided by the hospital social worker. Upon arrival, she was not given the welcome kit until the next day. That same night, she did not receive her nighttime medication because the facility said they didn’t have it. The staff was aware she would be arriving that evening, so this was very concerning. The Director of Nursing later told me there was a miscommunication between the hospital, the facility, and myself regarding her medication, but regardless, my mother went without it. During the night, when she needed assistance to use the restroom, response times were so slow that she attempted to get out of bed on her own. This was extremely unsafe, especially since she had recently undergone heart surgery and was in a skilled nursing facility specifically for support and care. She could have easily injured herself. The next day, she was not served lunch while other patients received their meals. Later that night, she became sick and threw up. She called for help using both the bathroom call system and the call button by her bed, but no one responded. She had to yell and go into the hallway to get assistance. A nurse returning from break was the one who finally helped her, and even she questioned why the nurses at the station had not responded. If I could give this facility zero stars, I would. If you care about your loved one’s safety and proper care, I would not recommend bringing them here.

I had a loved one stay temporary at Focus Care recently where the staff was very attentive and trustworthy and the care was good. You can tell the building is older, however, the staff maintains it very well. It is clean and smells good. The Administrator is very professional, easy to talk to and answered any questions I had. The new Director of Nursing was also professional and handled all my clinical questions and concerns in a timely manner.
