I beg to differ, residents are great, kind and lovable. The staff is whole nother story. Staff is rude, aggressive, most of the time there's hardly any staff. Here's some advice when looking for a place for your loved ones check into the facility (any facility) First put in the name of the facility then look for the one that says oregon.gov that's DHS (state nursing board). This has all the inspections along with the fines and violations.

Fircrest is a wonderful place for my mother to live. The staff are friendly and helpful and most are the same staff that have been there for many years. My mom is happy to call Fircrest her home and thinks of the employees and other residents as part of her extended family.

My father spent his final two years at this facility. He was well cared for and when he passed the compassion was obvious in the caregiver. I visited weekly and took the time to get to know the staff. This is the key! So many families drop off their elders and all but ignore them. This is likely why there are complaints from others about “not knowing anything “. My dad would end up with random slippers etc. His would end up somewhere else. This is a Memory Care, this is going to happen. Remember, their reality is not ours. Visiting helps. The fact is, these staff are doing their best in a tough situation. My advice, visit your elders! They deserve that respect from you!

Lacking in compassion, knowledge, cleanliness and overall care. In the beginning, Fircrest Memory Care was a supportive haven for our dear family member amid sudden need. A couple of staff members were not only friendly but also genuinely attentive. However, Fir Crest has far more inattentive team members, who are unwilling or incapable. Unfortunately, these were the individuals with the most regular contact with our loved one. On one occasion, we arrived to find she had fallen forward in her wheelchair in the dining hall. No one had noticed and we have no idea how long she had been in that position. On other occasions, we found her without clothing on, despite the fact 3 employees were nearby on their phones. One of these instances, she merely wanted the matching top to her pants. Despite our daily visits, laundry care, and room cleaning, we often discovered missing or unfamiliar clothing, including clothing she was wearing. Meal provision was sloppy, and personal care, including bathing, was inconsistent. During dinner one evening, there was a physical altercation between 2 staff members that ended up including more staff members out in front of the facility. The inadequate attention to our vulnerable family member left us dissatisfied, expecting a much higher standard. After our family member's passing, the absence of condolences or even a simple smile from any staff member during the room clearing left us feeling as if we were invisible. One final note, the director's office was just a few doors down, and not once did we meet or were greeted by her. She tolerates poor behaviors in the part of her staff.

Fircrest and their staff was a Godsend for our family, from the management being efficient and communicating regularly with us to the care givers taking an honest interest with our family and the other residents. The social worker who helped us through a most difficult decision, move and getting settled was top notch. Our family really appreciates the level of care our aunt and uncle received and the love they were shown during their final years there. Thank you!
