I moved into The Elms community 3 1/2 years ago and never want to be anywhere else! The staff not only do their job but go beyond to make us happy and content! There is always someone available to help - the wonderful office staff listen, the maintenance staff are helpful, even at a moment’s notice! The kitchen and serving staff are always willing to listen and joke back at us! They often go out of their way to take care of our special (and sometimes “picky”) requests. The facility is always clean, with special rooms to take care of our needs. Staff works with residents to offer many different activities. Then, there are the residents! I call them my Elms Family! No more than 100 people so it helps in getting to know each other! Meals in the dining room are wonderful times to get to know each other. No assigned seating so you can move around.

The Elms is my home. I moved here a year after I was widowed. First, I toured several other retirement centers in the area but this is the only one that felt like home. I have lived here for six years and plan to live here many more. I have many friends and they are now part of my family. Everyone is friendly and kind. It is a happy place. We share our lives and laugh together. It has every amenity you can hope for with an unmatched professional staff. It's also close to my oldest son and daughter-in-law. You will be welcome here. Look no further!

I have lived at The Elms for 12 years now, as of May 2026. Prior to me living here, my Mother and in-laws lived here. My mother in law made it home for 13 years and was still here when I moved in, 2014. I have met a lot of nice, interesting people here at The Elms. Through changes throughout the years, I have always felt secure here. The owners and staff are always friendly and helpful. We are so fortunate to have such caring people. In my stay here, I have seen a handful of people move out for various family reasons, and then return to The Elms. That's how great it is! Friendships are made and blossom here. It is a caring community of people. There are many activities to join, and bus trips. The food here is wonderful, with a great salad bar too. You never feel alone here. Janis Hadley-Brickey🌈

Living here for the past 18 months has been more wonderful than I ever thought living in an affordable retirement community could be. Everyone including the office staff, maintenance crew, dining room staff and residents are so kind, thoughtful, friendly, and fun that it truly is a community. Everything is clean and well-maintained and just like it appears in the brochure - beautiful. Meals are served like a fine restaurant in a beautiful dining room (one of my favorite things). I count it a blessing to live here.

I have been living at the Elms in Forest Grove for more than three years now. I believe that my experiences at the Elms has greatly increased my quality of living. From day one the kind staff and residents made me feel welcome. I am very happy with the Dining at the Elms because I enjoy the salad bar and good soups. I play cards twice a week with the same group of ladies. The community takes up a whole block, and I can easily get my walking steps done every morning. I am thrilled that I decided to live at the Elms in Forest Grove.
