ECHR has some of the most caring and compassionate healthcare workers in the industry. As a hospice care consultant I have seen many facilities in this region over the last 15 years and they are by far one of the very best! I also have seen personally the care they provide to the residents in their community and they truly care. The care is personal and they strive to meet each residents needs to make them feel comfortable and cared for.

The staff here never gave up on me even when I wanted to give up on myself. They focused on what I needed to do to get me home. The therapists helped me to set goals that helped me return to my life. I would especially like to thank Jared, Ana and Tina who worked with me in rehab and all the rest of the staff that helped me.

My mom recently suffered a stroke the beginning of this month she was in the hospital for About a week and then she was sent over to Elizabeth City Health And rehabilitation. The staff is phenomenal. The director of social services is amazing they answered All my questions they explained everything to me I could not imagine putting my mom in a different rehab rehabilitation center. The staff is caring and very compassionate They keep in contact with me a couple times a day to let me know my mom‘s progress. They call me to check up on me make sure I’m OK emotionally and if I need to talk, the nursing staff the director of social services everybody from the time I walked in that door until the time I left I had a wonderful experience visiting my mom. I would totally recommend this place. Definitely a 10 out of 10.

If I could give a zero I would. My mother went there to receive therapy after having a stroke. We were hoping it would just be for a couple weeks and then she could come home. I noticed she wasn't feeling well and started having conversations with the nurse practitioner. They were supposedly taking her vitals a couple times a day. However when I finally put my foot down and demanded they have her sent to the ER, her heart rate was in the 20s which is not sustainable. Her nurse Alice always seemed like it was a bother to do anything. One day I talked to her about getting cereal for my mom's breakfast and you would have thought I asked her to do open heart surgery. The day I asked for her to be taken to the hospital Alice hadn't taken her vitals by like 10:30 when she had gotten there at 7:30. There's also no communication. My mother vomited the night before she went to the hospital. When I spoke to Alice and the nurse practitioner the next morning, neither of them were aware of this.

My mom comes to stay with us for six months out of the year, and during this visit she had a fall that required professional, round-the-clock care and rehabilitation. She went from the hospital to this rehab facility, and we weren’t quite sure what to expect—especially since she was initially placed in a shared room. We thought sharing a room might feel impersonal, but it ended up being a blessing. Her roommate was wonderful, and they developed such a sweet friendship that when my mom later moved to a private room, she actually requested to have her roommate back! The staff here has been incredibly attentive, kind, and encouraging. My mom is not only receiving excellent physical care and therapy, but she is also enjoying the daily activities, friendly environment, and genuine sense of community. We feel completely at peace knowing she is safe, supported, and happy. We highly recommend this facility. It has truly been a gift to our family. It's very clean -secured- and comfortable. She even had her hair done - how wonderful she feels!
