I have waited a couple years to post a review anywhere. I was nervous for some reason. But it was those nerves that also kept us from attempting to hold Edgewood accountable. I found myself checking reviews and it's time to share. On a Sunday my mother-in-law started having abdominal discomfort and pain. She told nurses for a couple days that the pain was constant and she was becoming weak and tired. She asked to see the doctor but they wouldn't do it. After a couple days they finally called us and let us know they sent her to the ER "just to ease her mind and be checked". We were sitting in the ER, she was talking, she was weak but talking and laughing. They did a test and found that she was bleeding somewhere internally and planned to do a scan. Before they could do it she coded and died. And her cause of death was internal bleeding. I beat myself up because even though we spoke each day, she didn't tell us how it was getting worse. But the people who saw her all day long -- they didn't do anything for her. They gave her antacids and ignored her. I would NEVER recommend Edgewood. Ever.

This is the worst nursing home I ever seen and ever witnessed Tom foolery on a daily! If I could vote a negative five stars I would. It’s so sad and breaks my heart when I visit my loved one and she is crying her heart out to me because she no longer wants to stay at this horrible place. I’ve constantly made complaints and “suggestions” in their “suggestion box” that’s does absolutely nothing when it’s right outside of the Administrators office. Something needs to be done immediately.... and not next year. How many times does a resident need to get hurt on their watch, or have a resident be unsatisfied with the meals they provide or have them feel that they don’t matter? I feel like every time their under new management things get worse! I honestly never write reviews but I’m sick and frankly fed up with the lack of communication and integrity this home shows our loved ones. The staff plus their new management need to be swapped for a whole NEW and productive team. P.s- Edgewood Manor did not earn any stars for this review, I had to rate at least one star to post my hushed comments 😒

I had a hard time giving this facility even a 1 star! Absolutely deplorable, unsatisfactory conditions! My uncle was brought back from the dialysis clinic and left in the lobby to fend for himself to get back to his room. While attempting to get on the elevator, the door closed on him causing horrible bruising to his hip/side area and a open wound to his hand. No one even noticed until they saw his bloody hand. He was there 5 days (supposedly for rehab after a TVAR procedure??) before having to return to the hospital for shortness of breath and fluid around his heart. Thank GOD! I REFUSED TO LET HIM GO BACK!!!! How is this place even open and/or approved by Medicare and Medicaid ???? Someone needs to intervene, this is scary!

I would not leave anyone here. My dad was here for a few days. They were HORRIBLE!!!! Didn't bring him his meds on time--the first night he didn't get any. He is diabetic and the food they served him was not at all for a diabetic- high sodium and sugar. One night while were leaving, we saw an ambulance trying to drop off a patient and no one was around. I had to find someone and she didn't even stop what she was doing to let them in. AND, please know it was snowing. They also didn't schedule transportation for my dad's doctor appointments on more than on occasion.

My mom was in here for rehab for about a month. They are terrible. You have to ask for everything - such as your medications (may or may not get what was ordered by your doctor) - good luck gettting someone to bring a snack or lunch before you have to leave for dialysis at 12:00. We had to stay on top of the staff for every little thing. If you did not ask, you did not get it. And you have to ask multiple times. They do not change the bed sheets. They are understaffed and some of the staff is rude. Most of the staff has a thick accent and they are hard to understand. We asked repeatedly for a diabetic friendly tray when meals were brought. They ignored our requests. Brought banana to a dialysis patient - not supposed to have potassium. They are obviously a "for profit" facility. It is very obvoius they cut corners all over the place to save money and boost profit. The first 24 to 48 hours my mom was here, they did not have all of her meds. Said they had to order it and the drop ship will take about 2 hours. So we asked later, still not in. Asked again, not in. At one point a staff member lied to us about her meds. Very poor care. Do not even think about leaving a loved one here. My mom was recovering from a hospitalization, unlike many of the poor souls in there with dementia, who cannot remember anything. It is sad to think of the lack of care they are receiving, since they are unable to think clearly. Awful, awful, awful.
