Go someplace else. The rehab staff were good. The remainder of the staff could use improvement in patient care. I wasn’t allowed to go for a walk without a staff member, rarely did they have the time for me. I am diabetic and it took several days to get my meals switched to diabetic. My bed was too short, when I arrived, I was told they had to bring a bed extension, It several days and many complaints. It took 5 days to get a working TV set, that only happened because my friend fixed it. My first week there, I was in much pain (broken back and arm), I screamed for hours to get help. One of the head nurses scolded and threatened me for not sitting up on my own, after falling.

The office staff is unresponsive to return calls. The beds are small, malfunctioning and uncomfortable. The bedding is ragged. Patients must make their own beds even when they are suffering injury and in pain. The food served is seldom what is offered and selected on the menue. Alternat menue items offered are never available. There are no vending machines for visitors and guest. There are no seats in patient rooms for visitors and guest.

My mother has only been there a little more than 24 hours and so far I'm not very happy. When we stepped off of the elevator the OVERWHELMING SMELL OF URINE AND SOME TYPE OF CHEMICALS IMMEDIATELY took my breath away!! I have been a patient of many in patient rehab/ nursing facilities (due to my Lupus) and I have NEVER encountered a smell quite like this one! There are 20 other things I can speak on, including the appearance of the DIRECT SUPPORT STAFF, which includes ALL direct support. Nothing about their appearances says PROFESSIONAL..or GOOD HYGIENE.. or you can TRUST ME with your LIFE! I think this was a mistake.. I'll give them until Monday when I'm able to meet Admin staff then maybe this will change🤦🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️

DO NOT SEND LOVED ONES HERE! An extended family member was here to recover after a stroke. All children live out of town, so visiting is every couple days, until one child showed up unannounced. They did not wash him to the point where he had bed sores, causing an infection. They wouldn’t care for him so he tried to move himself and his arm became dislocated and was not cared for three days. When he had his stroke his teeth were misplaced by the hospital and now can only consume soft foods. The nursing staff put his only food out of reach and when he finally got , it hardened from sitting out. This man has diabetes so his sugars need to be monitored, and they were providing only one protein shake a day. Because the staff was not caring for him appropriately they decided to put him on hospice. They didn’t want to care for him so basically left him there to rot. When the son was visiting and saw what happened he immediately transferred to ER. Once he got water and passed swallow test he was able to respeak and verbalize he was starving. Hospital was mortified nurses put him on hospice. This man has life left to live!!

Saber needs to make updates to the building. The lobby needs a serious facelift. The dining area where most of the patients sit daily is very outdated and uncomfortable for guests. Sometimes, that room is not very clean as well. I wish they cleaned and sanitized daily. I'm hopeful that Saber will make some improvements now that they've owned this facility for over a year. The STAFF however is SUPERB!! My mom has been there since June 2024 and I feel like they have all become my family. I can't say enough amazing things about Nurses Kim and Pat and aides Key, Yvonne, Mousda and the other aides!! They ALL do an amazing job taking care of Mom. Director Marianne has been wonderful to work with as well. She's been very kind and understanding. Wendy goes out of her way to schedule doctor's appointments for Mom. She went above and beyond one day and drove to the doctor's office when Mom was being difficult and wouldn't leave. Lindsey and Art in Laundry take care of Laundry on a daily basis. I don't know how they do it!! Jody in activities really cares for the patients and makes sure their brains are stimulated. 24 hour skilled nursing is not fun or easy. I could never do this for mom at home, so I am thankful for this team. It takes a village to take care of a loved one with dementia. Thank you, East End!!
