I’d give 0 stars if it were an option. Health inspectors finding dozens of cockroaches in the kitchen about 4 months ago was reprehensible and extremely negligent of this entire facility’s staff. With cockroaches there’s always more hiding that you can’t see, so when you can see dozens then there’s a severe infestation. If you have anyone you know in this facility as a patient, please remove them immediately for their safety. As a local nurse, I’ll do my part to inform my patients of this dirty dining report if they need to go to an assisted living, and that they should stay far away from this one.

Dirty & unsafe kitchen facilities. I can prove this beyond just my own experience & observation. A recent health inspection of the kitchen revealed over 30 visible live roaches on the walls & ceilings of the kitchen. As everyone knows once you get to the point where you are seeing that many roaches you have an extreme and severe infestation that is not being handled properly. This is public information and can be looked up on Maricopa County's website to verify I'm telling the truth. I wouldn't let anyone I loved eat food from that kitchen. Places like this allow the facility to fall apart, the staff to be underpaid, & the residents to suffer all while a handful of people at the top profit. Stay away for your own safety.

Drs choice assisted living has some great nurses, mainly males. They are really nice. The problem is the food . You would think whoever makes decisions on the food for these patients would realize they are old , more than likely have very little teeth, have diabetes or heart issues & spend most their time in bed. So why would their meals be hot dogs, Mac n cheese & chile? Sometimes veggies that include broccoli & cabbage which are known to cause gas. They are not teenagers & can’t eat that way, it hurts them. The meals should be chosen with all this in mind. I realize the junk is cheaper but they deserve better. a good meal brings them nourishment & happiness. Sometimes they have a great meal & it makes them feel better. They should have this more often. How would you want to eat if it was you laying there ?

Please do not consider Doctor’s Choice as an option for your assisted living needs. I was molested by a caregiver there during my 6 week stay in 2018. The in-house doctor cancelled every appointment (3). As a result, the infection in my hip went undetected resulting in a total hip replacement. Medication given by confused staff, very disturbing. Meals were terrible at best, seriously 1/2 a peanut butter (no jelly) sandwich and watered down noodle soup for dinner? It was bad, the whole experience. Please reconsider your options before allowing anyone you love to be placed in this facility.

My brother was asked to leave within 2 hours, because he had aids and also, he could not walk. But they had time to cash my $1500.00 check. It was taken out of my account by the next day. And as of three weeks later I NEED THE MONEY! My brother after dropping by another terrible long term care place, he his at Hospice of the Valley he is dying—-thank you two below average long term care places.
