The staff at this facility are amazing. They are warm and caring. I go to bed every night feeling at peace knowing that my mom is safe. The concierge staff Larry, Albert and Maxine are incredibly kind. The head Nurse, Christine gets a special shout out from me. Christine and Dr. Shvartsman stabilized my mom. My mom entered the facility in a terrible state where she was psychotic due to her dementia. My mom now plays bingo, listens to music, watches the news on T.V. and is back to being her social self. My mom loves Arden who coordinates all their activities. And, she says all of the staff are caring. The only reason I gave Dobson Plaza 4 stars is because your loved one may have to share a room with more than one person depending upon what floor they are on.

Excellent community with very caring people. What I like about Dobson is that it's family owned and operated. The owner is very involved in making sure all the residents are well cared for, which you don't see in many facilities. The families are very involved with making Dobson even more special. It's a gem that more people need to know about.

Dobson Plaza was my mother’s home for 2 ½ years and it became an important part of our family. Mom had the full experience – moving from the active environment on the 1st floor, to the slightly more limited 2nd floor, to her final bed on the restricted 3rd floor where she received compassionate care in the last 3 months of her life. Wherever she was, Mom was supported in visiting family and friends, enjoyed the beautiful garden, and treated with dignity and respect. The Directors and staff in every department are exceptional – from the experienced, compassionate nurses and CNAs on all three floors to the wonderful front desk and activities staff, to the highly professional administrative staff. They truly became part of our family and watched out for Mom’s best interests and our family’s needs throughout her time there, even through the height of the COVID pandemic. We looked at many skilled nursing homes and will always be grateful for the excellent care she received at Dobson Plaza, the best in Evanston.
