The food is disgusting. The aides leave the residents in their own urine & feces for many hours at a time. The aides only bathe the residents twice a week. There is not enough nurses & aides to take quality care of the residents.

My parents have lived at Discovery Village in the Independent Living building for 11 years. In that time, their apartment has flooded 4 times due to temperature changes and faulty construction that sets off the sprinkler system. In the worst case, they had to move out of their apartment for months and were still expected to pay rent. Currently, they are displaced again (for nearly a month so far) due to water damage and are staying in a model apartment without their belongings. They have no clear timeline from administration about when they will be able to move back in, yet they are still paying rent. You can imagine, this is extremely disruptive to their daily living and discouraging.<br><br>Other complaints I will note here:<br>- The food served in the dining hall is inconsistent in quality and sometimes the kitchen runs of items before all residents have been served.<br>- There is high staff turnover in the kitchen and dining hall in addition to administration.<br><br>An exception to the above: the front desk staff members truly care about the residents and their attentiveness and patience are appreciated.

My mom has been a resident of the assisted living facility here for a year. My sister and I had a great experience with the move in experience and positive experience at the front desk. As of late, there has been a shift in employees at the front desk. Sad to see the cheerful welcome from “Lulu” change to a less positive welcome as you walk in the door to an experience that might be unpredictable with your loved ones. In addition, on one exchange where I called to express my gratitude in dealing with my mom, who can be quite a pill whe her Altzheimer’s agitation and sunsetting episodes the effect, I was met with…” We got this and know what to do” attitude from a nurse on staff. Can’t wait to see some changes so I can give a 5 star review soon
