My dad walked into Cumberland House Hospice, talking, feeding himself and using the restroom facilities with a little assistance October 8, 2023 and CHH staff began administering lethal doses of narcotics (i.e., morphine, fentanyl, ativan, xanax, and more) within 10 hours after my dad arrived. My dad had Alzheimer's and not a disease or illness with pain. The staff at Cumberland House never contacted my family (our mom), nor did CHH receive permission to administer such dangerous medications to my dad. My mom called every day during the short, supposed to be (5) day respite and CHH staff continued to report to mom that dad was fine and resting. Now, my family knows dad was unconscious and unresponsive and that information was not transmitted by anyone to my mom or any family member, until the last day when we were to pick my dad up from CHH, we received a phone call at 4:00 am stating my dad was dying, and my dad did die the following day because he was overdosed. My dad was never cared for, and left laying in filth! We arrived to find my dad curled in a fetal position, the smell emanating from dad was putrid due to the extreme negligence of Cumberland hospice house facility staff. Please heed to my warning and do not use this facility. Our family experienced a horror story and nightmare that we will never forget. I pray those who need to read this review will, and they can advocate for loved ones and make better choices in care.

My father was in 2 homes before coming to The Cumberland House. Not only my father, but all of the family, were treated with love and kindness the entire 9 months he was there. My family cannot say enough about the wonderful care he was given and we now call every caregiver there family. We would recommend anyone to go there, it made a hard situation much easier! Thank you Cumberland House! 🩷

My mother spent her last weeks of life at Cumberland House in a very caring and special atmosphere. The staff was excellent in meeting all her needs (medical, emotional and spiritual). They were devoted to making her end of life as comfortable a time as possible and were very supportive of family members as well.
