Crystal Bay Senior Living is NOT a 5 star rating! I lived there with my mom for three years and during that time I witnessed a lack of respect for the elderly. Communications for lease renewal or various other pertinent information were placed under the door to the apartment with perhaps only a day or so of notification for action to be taken. As for the prior reviews given for Crystal Bay, the people leaving reviews are staff members (administrator, kitchen worker and medical staff workers) who work at Crystal Bay who work at The Pillars at Crystal Bay Assisted Living and do NOT live at Crystal Bay Senior Living! Some of them will use our garage for the storage of their personal boats or/and cars. Then there is false advertising for Crystal Bay...the computer room has a couple of old computers without WI-FI with outdated software, the exercise room consists of a few outdated pieces of equipment and they advertise a "theater" which is in a community room with a larger TV and DVD player with chairs on rollers that you can set up on your own. Only on occasion will the activity director from the assisted living side be allowed time to facilitate activities on the Senior "independent" side. The building has dirty floors and carpeting, the furniture in the common areas are outdated and smell from the dogs and the wallpaper is peeling throughout the building. The elevator has been unusable on three different occasions (up to 5-7 days) and when I left Platinum Communities was waiting for a part to get it fixed. The maintenance workers consist of one full time and one very part time man and are overworked trying to maintain both the independent and assisted living buildings. They are also responsible for the upkeep of the grounds outside for both buildings. The housekeeping consists of one woman for cleaning the lobby, common areas, vacant apartments, etc. and she is also overworked. The door used to go to and from the garage is left open and NOT safe. Platinum Communities has not installed a Handicap door/button for this door either. This establishment is all about MONEY!!! Rent rates increase with little to no notice. Why stay here? However, found the residents to be caring and polite.
