My mom went here for a little bit because of her dementia. They do not seem to understand how to take care of people with dementia. The admissions director was very nice and knowledgeable and always willing to answer questions I had. However, the nursing staff seems to me like they scrapped the bottom of the barrel. Most of them are not helpful, and did not want to answer questions I had. My mom fell twice at this facility. The nursing staff did not notify me about one of the falls, I found out later. They also assumed that I didn’t want her to go to the hospital.

She broke her wrist and hip. She had to have hip surgery, and once that was done I moved her to Ignite St. Mary’s in Blue Springs and they are MUCH better!

My mother has been on a very long journey with major health issues which have required her to rehab in a facility often. She now refuses to go to any other facility besides Crown Rehab. The level of care is above and beyond other places she has been. Actually, our family has had to take her out of the place where the hospital sent her to do in-house dialysis. She is diabetic, her foot was swollen and getting more inflamed by the day. Six days there, no care plan and no one had looked at her foot. We were done and told them we were going somewhere else. Due to their lack of care, she had to return to the ER for another admission. We told St. Lukes South that we’d go no where else but to Crown Rehab this time. The facility there is beautiful, warm, and welcoming. Yesterday, I was able to take my mother out in her wheelchair and sit on the deck of the pond and then take her for a stroll on the concrete sidewalk all the way around the beautiful pond. We enjoyed watching the turtles and their babies. Just a really relaxing experience. My mother told me she actually can sleep and be comfortable when she is there. It is wonderful as a family member to feel confident knowing when I am not with her that she is being cared for just as if I were there. I won’t waste my time with any other facility again.

I can’t say enough good things about Crown. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm and friendly staff who care about each and every resident. They take the time to get to know each one and they strive to make everyone feel at home. One of the standout things about Crown is the activities, they’re not only engaging and fun, but they also bring residents together in meaningful ways. There’s a real effort to create joy and connection every day. What truly sets Crown apart is the sense of community. It doesn’t feel like just another nursing home—it feels like a family. Staff and residents alike create an environment where everyone belongs, and that makes all the difference.I would highly recommend Crown to anyone looking for a place where their loved ones will be cared for with kindness, dignity, and heart.
