Does places terrible do not bring your elderly parents or your mother your uncle or your daughter or anybody here. Understaffed at night time can't get medication your medication is not in stock my dad went there with a fractured hip the treatment was terrible he end up getting an ulcer on his heel a urine tract infection and a blood clot with 24-hour service. How to file for complaints in a 3 Week stay. Administrator Thomas social worker Cafe and the head nurse Gereline. Tell you one thing and then do another at night time there's one registered nurse and three helpers.. if you have a loved one in here do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. I filed complaints with the state of Florida Broward county and Humana insurance company... Physical therapist do not have any specific schedules they charge you to talk to you they charge you for wheeling you down the hallway. My dad has lost two wheelchairs in here has lost his clothing to roommates and not to mention his shoes

My father was moved to Covenant Living Skilled Nursing in December after a fall and discharge from the hospital. I was very clear to ask about his secondary insurance covering what Medicare did not. It was the PRIMARY concern after being assured he would be well cared for. All of this happened so fast - I asked repeatedly to be sure he would not incur out of pocket charges. There was another skilled nursing facility we were considering, but chose Covenant because we actually thought it would be better.<br>Within 24 hours, we were told he would be kicked out (Christmas Eve) if we did not provide 24/7 private pay aides to sit with him as he was trying to get out of bed.<br><br>He was frantic, disoriented, delusional after being in the hospital for two weeks and in severe pain from multiple fractures in his shoulder. He was already partially paralyzed from birth on one side. The hospital stay had meant he was separated from his wife of 64 years.<br><br>YES! He was trying to get out of bed. She has Alzheimer's and in his brain fog and pain, he was terrified that she was home alone.<br><br>So, rather than show compassion, and provide SKILLED NURSING, they said we had to pay private care.<br>*** side note *** he was there for a month -- and during that time, his other roommate was also told he must have private duty care to stay!<br><br>After two weeks of that,our day time aide said he was no longer trying to get out of bed at night. So we cut back to 12 hours of private care. And one day towards the end of his stay...a nurse asked me why we were paying for private duty???<br><br>There are things that just do not add up.<br><br>Let me be clear here - there were some fantastic people working at Covenant. There were two specific therapists who were phenomenal people - caring, considerate, helpful and truly called to work in this field.<br><br>I will refrain from disparaging across the board. I will just say this - go anywhere but here if your loved one needs skilled nursing.<br><br>Then, one Friday evening I got a call from the director of nursing saying she was giving me a head's up that they would be discharging him because "he wasn't trying to get better".<br><br>We had fortunately been considering our next steps, but it was still incredibly stressful.<br><br>We decided on a place, got his new space picked and furniture set up, all the things he would need. The new facility sent their director of nursing out to assess him and cleared him for admission.<br><br>And when I told them on Monday, Covenant acted like they had no idea what I was talking about.<br><br>Literally - they said they did not have a discharge notice for him. And then...they dragged their feet getting the paperwork done for us to move him.<br><br>It was impossible to get anyone on the phone. They were always 'in meetings'. The receptionist was fabulous. She tried so hard to accommodate and assist but we were just being stonewalled.<br><br>It has taken me 8 months to write this because I did not want to be knee jerk reactive and rude. But now, they have turned a bill for $4k over to collections. I asked months ago for an itemized bill. I wanted to know exactly what it was for. I asked them about his secondary insurance. I said I wanted to know if they had submitted that bill to the secondary insurance -- since I was told on the front end that it would be covered. I got no itemized bill.<br><br>Instead.... a collection agency is sending notifications now. I will get it resolved. But with no help from Covenant.<br><br>My father has declined. He and my mother are in Memory Care now.<br><br>So, thanks Covenant Living Skilled Nursing. Thanks for making the most difficult season of our lives even more painful.<br><br>The Independent side is beautiful. Perhaps even the Assisted living. The residents are lovely.<br><br>I understand there was some transition and changing staff as well as holidays during Dad's stay -- but that is no excuse for the things that were happening. Grace yes. But excuses no.

Why are you only allowing positive reviews for this place!<br>DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE TO THIS FACILITY<br>This was the WORST EXPERIENCE of my life!<br>My mother was in the skilled nursing facility for rehabilitation after a stroke & NEVER came home….SHE DIED IN THIS PLACE!<br>The caregivers are more interested in socializing than caring for their sick patients!<br>NOT ONCE was I ever able to speak with a doctor to find out about my mothers’ condition, how the rehabilitation-progress was going, what medications she was receiving, her care, feeding, etc.<br>I was contacted by a nurse ONLY to notify me of her passing away!<br>PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE HERE!!! You may never see them again!
