I moved my mom into Cordia in September of 2025. It was the best decision I’ve made for her.
She has a very comfortable studio apartment there. When she initially moved, she was quite reserved about being at a senior residence because she had always lived with family members and this was the first time in a senior community.

I’ve gotten to know and really appreciate the staff and all that they do to make the residents comfortable and happy.

Nelly and John in the dining room provide excellent food. They have a standard menu and have additional entrees and side options every day. It must keep the cooks engaged (because not the same thing every day) but also provides a very nice variety for the residents. On holidays they have extra special treats and offerings so those who don’t leave for family activities have a super party time!

Gerry and his maintenance staff respect and respond very quickly to requests. I had asked for an additional safety bar in my mom’s bathroom and they installed it within a day.

The front desk folks (Geri, Kathleen, Angel, Miriam) listen carefully to all the residents to answer their questions or to get them assistance with things like their TV programs. They are also always smiling and considerate to everyone.

I’ve needed to engage the nursing staff for eye drops recently following my mom’s cataract surgery and have been very pleased with Ola and her team. Michelle (the head day nurse) had also been very helpful to me when my mom had had to visit the ER for an infection. The nursing staff and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) at Cordia are available 24/7 for any support needed, which is very comforting when your loved one is over 90 years old!

Part of the monthly assessment includes periodic cleaning of my mom’s room - so this, together with the healthy and delicious meals - has tremendously eased my anxiety about my mom’s experience at Cordia.

Last but not least - enrichment activities!
Katy Duda the program coordinator (aka Chaos Coordinator) and her assistant Kelly have an excellent schedule of activities that the residents can participate in every day. There are regular activities:
*Exercise coaches who come in to direct the residents with age appropriate strength, flexibility, and coordination training
*Bingo - a weekly fun time with prizes
*Painting, beadwork, and other seasonal crafts
*Indoor and outdoor gardening
*Monthly birthday celebrations
*Current event discussions
*Group wordplay games : crossword, letter honeycomb, others
*Cordia Choir - with seasonal performances
*Musical artists - different artists at least every week or every other week
*Opportunities to get on the Cordia bus to visit area attractions (like the Morton Arboretum), or to get on the Cordia golf cart for a ride around nearby TY Warner Park.

There are also other educational events that Katy or Kelly prepare (like for the Olympic competitions or the Oscar Awards), or that Katy secures (such as individuals who produce and present information on well known celebrities or on historical events). I have attended a number of these myself and found them and the ensuing discussions to be very engaging!

The itinerary of events at Cordia is like what you’d see on a cruise ship. There’s something for everyone! I especially appreciate those that engage the residents to help keep their minds working. I find those to be respectful and beneficial.

Honestly, when I think about what my mom used to do at my or my siblings’ homes - which was to watch TV all day long - and compare to what she is able to do at Cordia, I KNOW her life is much better. She’s actively moving in the (chair-based) exercise classes and using her brain for Bingo or other activities. I really and truly appreciate what everyone at Cordia does for those that live there. The staff has very little turnover so I believe that Cordia also workhs to keep them happy. A good situation for all!

This was home for both of my parents for quite a few years. They were able to stay together as we faced many health challenges. I could always trust that my mom was safe and in good care, as I took my dad to many doctors appointments. I loved all of the activities available, and the wonderful back patio for visiting! Now we have my uncle living here, and I know he is in the best hands available! He absolutely loves the food and the staff that care for him! Highly recommend!

My parents moved into Cordia Senior Living in the Hinsdale area in November 2025, and they couldn't be happier with our decision to call this community their home.
First, a huge shoutout to Kastle Keeper, who managed their relocation. Moving can be so overwhelming, but their team was phenomenal. They took fantastic care of our belongings, specifically our large wall unit and our heavier furniture, getting everything moved and set up perfectly. We were thrilled to see how it all fit into our new apartment, which is incredibly spacious and gives us plenty of room to live comfortably.
Since settling in, our experience at Cordia has been absolutely wonderful. The staff here is just great! The level of care they provide is top-notch. They are incredibly attentive, compassionate, and truly treat the residents like family. My parents always feel safe, respected, and well-supported.
They also have to rave about the food! It is simply exceptional. The meals are consistently delicious and beautifully prepared, making sitting down in the dining room feel like eating out at a fantastic restaurant every day.
If you are looking for a welcoming community with excellent care, a wonderful staff, and great dining, we highly recommend Cordia.

Cordia Senior Living in Westmont is truly in a league of its own! From the moment you walk through the doors, you can feel the warmth and vibrant energy that makes this community so special.
A huge part of what makes Cordia shine is their incredible Executive Director, Katie. She is, quite simply, amazing. It is rare to find a leader who is so genuinely caring and deeply invested in the happiness of every resident. Katie’s creativity brings a unique spark to the community’s programming, ensuring there is always something fresh and exciting happening.
What really sets her apart, though, is her accessibility. Whether you are a resident or a family member, Katie is always available to listen, help, and offer support. She leads with her heart, and it shows in the happy faces of the seniors who call Cordia home.

My dad moved to Cordia in May 2023 and we have been so happy with the experience. Soon after moving in, the Activity Director sought my dad out to talk about his interests and skills, and arranged for him to do a ham radio and soldering demonstration for a group of high schoolers. My dad was on cloud 9 and his confidence in himself soared. This is just one example of things that happen on a daily basis at Cordia. Another favorite is the 'mystery resident' activity where some interesting and fun facts about residents lives are posted in the weekly activity info and the residents come to a meet and greet to guess who it is. All the staff at Cordia are friendly, kind and go above and beyond - from the front desk, dining room, activities, Wellness, maintenance, PT and transportation. Everyone is caring and my dad was floored that everyone knew his name from day 1. We have also been happy with the PCP, Podiatrist, and PT services my dad has had. The chef is available and gregarious, and the food is delicious and tailored to dietary needs if needed. The monthly "special birthday dinner" is excellent, as well as the Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners we've had. The daily exercise classes are varied and are taught by great people. Also the live music is fantastic, and the parties and decorations make for a beautiful setting. We love the garden pathways and koi pond in the courtyard, and the gold cart rides to Ty Warner Park are great. There are welcome signs all over so we get to know the new residents, and huge puzzles in the hallway for everyone to participate in. The craft offerings are inventive, and the bus trips to the Arboretum, Lilacia Park, library, restaurants etc are planned frequently. My dad was reluctant to move out of his home of 56 years, but after two weeks his response was "This place has totally exceeded my expectations." The size of the community is just right - large enough to have a lot of activity offerings, but not so big that it's overwhelming, and it doesn't lose it's sense of a close knit community. Almost 3 years after moving in, my dad and I continue to be so pleased with his decision to move to Cordia.
