About Shadyside Healthcare & Rehabilitation

Shadyside Healthcare & Rehabilitation is a skilled nursing and long-term care facility in Shadyside, Ohio, with a licensed capacity of 88 residents. It provides both short-term rehabilitation and longer-term care services, including memory care and hospice support.

Reviews paint a sharply divided picture. Families who praise the facility highlight the nursing and hospice staff as compassionate and attentive, particularly during end-of-life care and respite stays. One family wrote, "The world needs more people like you," describing their grandfather's final week. Others note staff respect for residents and positive resident remarks during visits. The memory care unit receives specific commendation for kindness and care quality.

However, several families report serious concerns about food service and diet compliance. Multiple reviewers describe meals not being delivered, food restrictions ignored, and provided meals being of poor quality or going missing. These complaints span different time periods and family members, suggesting a persistent operational issue rather than isolated incidents.

The facility holds a 3.5 out of 5 star rating based on 23 Google reviews. The stark contrast between five-star and one-star assessments reflects genuinely inconsistent experiences, with the most consistent complaints centered on meal management and dietary care.

My grandma has been an on and off resident here. I have to say they have been absolutely wonderful with her every time she is there. I’m here primary caregiver since September 2025, and once a month she goes for respite through Hospice so that I can have 5 days to relax and get personal things done. I cannot express how much I appreciate the staff from the nurses to the social workers. Everyone has been kind and caring to my grandma. When she goes in for her respite, aides and nurses, even the social workers, come in to give her hugs and talk to her. My grandma absolutely loves seeing everyone and it warms my heart. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for everything you all do for her!

My grandfather was placed here for his last week of life and I can’t say enough about the nursing staff (primarily Anne or Annie?) and hospice staff (primarily Kendra). Thank you so much for your compassion, patience, and treating him as if he were your own. My mind is at peace knowing he felt safe and was well cared for. The world needs more people like you ❤️
