I’ve been here just one day and so far it’s a five and I don’t think it’s because of my presence. I see them speaking and treating other patients the same way they treat mine. My lady is 96 years old and had a stroke so she’s here for rehabilitation and she had two private aides, me and another girl, And even though she Is here, her son wants us to still be here with her. Ashley, and another Ashley, and Flo Were just a few of the aides that I Encountered during my first day there. Flo managed the site until Ashley and Ashley were able to get there to conduct a beautiful Event of re-potting flowers With some of the ladies that live there In the beautiful and peaceful courtyard that they have all the way to the left side of the building. During the repotting event, her physical therapists Bill, Victoria, and Valina (I hope I Spelled the last name right and if I did not, I apologize) Came to get her for a session. They made my Lady feel very important and they were so gentle and helpful. After her physical therapy session, I received a “carrot” For her right hand, which is paralyzed after the stroke because my Lady is so concerned about her right arm and hand, not being as it used to be. Because this was just her second day of physical therapy the physical therapist wanted to wait before they gave her some type of splint, which makes a lot of sense. But because of that they made a way to accommodate me. When my Lady was in need of cleaning, the girls were right there. I am amazed at the amount of organization and preparation that goes into running this facility. All of the employees seem happy this really floored me because I’m not used to that in a nursing facility. Most nursing facility employees are very unhappy. This facility is beautiful the landscaping, the little tiny courtyards around the building for privacy. Lend a sense of peace like you’re at home. At the end of the day, I was sending her son a verbal text message in the lobby and the Director happened to walk by. I apologize for not remembering his name, but he is the administrator of this facility. He overheard me and actually stopped his exit and came over to me and told me that he would make sure everything was done to accommodate my Lady. I want to express that I have never been inside a nursing home or rehabilitation facility short-term or long-term that smelled of Febreze, lol. This is the cleanest facility I have ever seen. It is very small and quaint, and even the patients are happy which is very unusual to me. It was a blessing to see my lady in such a place. I can only hope when I become this stage and have to be sent somewhere that it is a place like this.
