Compassus Home Health provides hospice care in Pell City, Alabama and surrounding communities. The program delivers 24/7 compassionate care focused on reducing suffering and promoting comfort at the end of life, with the physical office open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Care is centered on symptom management, with nursing services, medications, supplies, and equipment covered when a diagnosis requires hospice care. The hospice team emphasizes pain management and addresses spiritual and emotional health alongside practical assistance. Care is provided wherever patients call home, including hospitals, nursing facilities, or personal residences.

The program offers short-term inpatient respite care to provide relief for family caregivers, as well as ongoing grief counseling for patients, families, and friends. Hospice services are delivered through four levels of care carried out by a team of professionals dedicated to ensuring dignity and comfort.

Compassus has received Community Health Accreditation Partner accreditation under the Hospice Standards of Excellence. The program relies on trained caregivers selected and trained to adhere to the highest standards in healthcare, with an emphasis on personal care plans developed through careful listening to patient and family needs.

Hospice volunteers play a meaningful role in the program, engaging in activities such as reading to patients, preparing meals for families, and providing household assistance. All volunteers receive free training at the local office and are valued members of the hospice team.
