During my 100 days at Communities of WildwoodI Ranch l received great personal care. The staff are professional, caring & patient. The attention & care l received in therapy was truly great. They were knowledgeable in what l needed and professional. The best part is they knew when to encourage & push a little as needed. When l had days l felt l wasn’t doing well, they were quick to encourage me & helped me feel better. Although some may think that doing therapy & having fun is an oxymoron, it is true here at Wildwood. The nursing staff have cared for me from all bed rest to where l can now care for myself. When l was depressed l had a nurse hold my hand and told me l was doing good. That is type of care l truly needed. I pray that l won’t need to have rehab again, but if l do l will certainly choose Wildwood.

This facility is highlighted as one of “the best facilities in the 4 states” and that could not have been farther from the truth with our grandmother’s recent experience. My grandmother suffered a stroke, and was discharged for rehabilitation with a severe left sided deficit. After considering several facilities for her rehabilitation, Wildwood seemed to be the best pick. Within the first week is when our issues began, and complaints we made seemed to fall on deaf ears. We visited her while in the facility almost daily and there were several occasions when we came in and discovered trash cans full of dirty briefs, wipes, toilet paper etc that were left with feces from the night prior. On one occasion the trash can was left with these items, and then shoved under the bed - not only unsanitary, but who wants to be forced to sit in the smell of their own feces for hours? There were days when my grandmother was given no other option but to sit in her wheelchair or lay in her bed, only getting up when she needed to use the restroom. There were multiple times during the night when my grandmother would push her call button to use the restroom, only to be left there for an extended period of time before anyone showed to help her. Multiple times when she was brought to the restroom, she was left in the bathroom for an extended period of time even after pulling the cord for assistance back to bed - the longest time she was left there on the toilet being 45 minutes. Therapy staff were nice, but with a lack of real plan or goals made for the therapy sessions she did receive, she was still almost completely immobile when discharged to go home. We had select nursing and care staff that we adored and that truly have the heart to care for people - while others were rude, neglectful, and should really find a different line of work. My grandmother was discharged home with bedsores, a hot mess medication list, completely uncontrolled diabetes (was controlled prior to her being here), and still needing 24/7 care to do basic activities of living. If you love your family members, don’t send them to this facility. We are making strides now with home therapy, no thanks to Wildwood.
