About Comfort Keepers

Comfort Keepers provides in-home care services for seniors in Westlake, Ohio and the surrounding Lorain County area. The organization offers non-medical home care designed to help older adults maintain independent living in their own homes, with customized care plans developed during an initial in-home consultation and assessment.

Care services include personal care, companionship care, assistance with household chores, meal preparation, shopping and errands, and 24/7 around-the-clock care for those who need continuous support. Caregivers receive special training in Alzheimer's disease and dementia care, using an approach called Interactive Caregiving that focuses on personal engagement through activities like music, reading, memory exercises, and photo review to support mental and physical stimulation. Respite care is also available for family caregivers who need temporary relief.

The agency emphasizes matching clients with carefully selected caregivers and working with families to develop care plans that accommodate unique situations, whether clients need extra help during nighttime hours or full-time in-home presence. Senior technology services including home monitoring, fall risk assessment, and medical alert systems are offered as part of the comprehensive care approach.

Comfort Keepers operates as an international network of independently owned and operated offices, with their Westlake location providing dedicated staff available around the clock to meet home care needs. Services vary by location and are subject to applicable state regulations.

I have been with Comfort Keepers for years. This is a good Home Health Care team. I can't name names for you, but the scheduler works so very hard in giving the people who need home health care, a good personal fit with home health aids. She's a delightful and bubbly person who will listen to your needs and do her best to supply them. I am personally grateful to know her. That post was 7 months ago and since then I have had a very horrible experience. I had a Nate who had told me she is a registered nurse and works at at the hospital in Elyria, at night in the ER. She then stated that she had special privileges as being a registered nurse who does work for Comfort Keepers as a nurse who will also evaluate people for the agency. She stated that she could make her own hours and even drive me places because she worked with Comfort Keepers in that capacity. All of that turned out to be a lie. Her initials are, LH. I was told that she had been fired and I hope her to be reported for Medicare and Medicaid fraud. This woman move from Elyria to 3 Doors Down from me in Lorain. She had taken my keys and I thought they were lost but she had kept them into my home at night without my knowledge and would leave them there asleep in my living room so she could go out and party. I heard her voice one night upon hearing her shushing one of the children. I said I hear you and she just left them there and then she left my apartment with the children behind. I had asked the eldest "how many times has your mother done this"

I agree with all of those who say this company is unprofessional & unreliable!! We hired them to care for my mother in law while we were out of town for twice a day Friday-Sunday and were reassured by Crystal she had the weekend covered...that was a lie! An aid only showed up Friday evening and Saturday afternoon...the Saturday afternoon aid left the burner on the stove on and a roll of paper towels on the burner next to it! My mil also said she spilled water on her couch and didn't clean it up. There was a broken mug on the floor which my mil dropped & she didn't clean it up. She didn't do the dishes and when she left she left her with only a Twinkie as a snack and no drink!! I was livid when I found the burner on and called them right away...I was told the aid had worked from midnight before and that was no excuse ' they would talk to her and report it to the owners Monday. I at least thought the owners would call us and address what happened ...but we have not heard a word. I told Alexis this could have put my mil in a very dangerous situation and we could have lost her if a fire started. I am not satisfied with how she handled this at all. DO NOT let them take care for your loved ones!!

Comfort Keepers of Lorain County has worked well to help our family in a difficult time. After a few changes we have a team of three that is giving my mother some excellent care. I am grateful for the compassionate helper(Tiffany Johnson)that takes pride in her work and goes above all standards to give my mom excellent care.

I would like to take a moment to write observation and support for Comfort Keepers services. I have witness top quality of service in the senior residential living apartment facility I reside. One greatly appreciated Comfort Keepers service was the providing a representing to come to our facility weekly offering free blood pressure and oxygen reading, giving each person a copy of their results and encouraged to show their doctor. Also provided was written health education pamphlets. These sessions were private. Friends share with me supporting what I received. When there results or questions regarding other health issues were strongly recommended to advised to contact our own physician immediately to further discuss to find out if a need for further action necessities. Persons eagerly waited each week for their visit with the represented, displaying the trust they developed with this person and that they could count on her promptness and caring dependability. Another service provided was a group educational sessions (providing healthy snacks too). The spokesperson provided education with the possibility for individual service coming to their apartment to evaluate needs and provide personal care for the residence. In speaking with my friends, these providers were caring, respectful, friendly, and dependable. Beside the individual care, as these providers were seen around our building, they are respectful, friendly and attentive to the guidelines of confidentiality just stating that they work for Comfort Keepers. The service of weekly BP/oxygen and education had to stop due to COVID yet individual healthcare service continues abiding by the COVID guidelines. I recommend and endorse Comfort Keepers group if you, a family, a residential facilitates Contact Comfort Keepers. Give them a call. Be Safe

No company is perfect. But Comfort Keepers does a wonderful job of making that a goal. They work very hard to fulfill the needs of their clients. I have worked with four companies to help care for my parents. It's not an easy responsibility but, when you find a reliable company it is a comfort and they are a keeper. Thank you all so much for what you do and hiring quality people.
