My mother was a resident of Colonial Gardens February 2025 until September 2026. It started out great. But, after several visits to the ER for fall; refactoring her wrist and stitches. The final trip was a week in hospital due to UTI. After the visit to hospital to receive stitches I went to check on her the next day, I found her with her injury still covered in blood, laying in a urine filled bed. After, I completely lost it with staff I thought I was leaving her in good hand and we had an understanding. However, my sister went the next day to find her bed unmade so mattress would dry, dirty depends in floor, blood stains on bathroom counter and still head unclean. For the money you pay for care there, the staff is untrained and there in no licensed nursing staff to administer medication and handle emergencies. I ask to speak with person in charge since it was a weekend and nobody knew who that was. When my mother was released from hospital due to the UTI she had to go to for rehab due to weakness. We found out our mother had been over medicated which explains her falls. Also, her needed care had progressed to Long Term Care. So after 7 months under Colonial Gardens care she does not walk or have any desire to walk. I ask the director which we met with several times for an incident report and never received. Im sure you wonder why I did not press charges, it would not matter they know how to CYA. I will close with letting anyone considering placing a love one in Colonial Gardens DON'T.

I wanted to take a moment to share some of my family's impressions of Colonial Gardens and its staff.
First off, let me say that we've had a very positive experience since my wife was placed on December 1, 2025
They have a great team working together very well and showing compassionate care for the residents under their care.
The the Activities Director, organizes programs that are impressive and we have noticed a huge change in my wife’s cognition since being there. She was at a point where she couldn't recognize me and was very confused about life in general before admission. Since she has been at Colonial Gardens none of these types of questions come up. It's wonderful that she looks forward to seeing me and misses me when I'm not there.
Activity leads are very enthusiastic and work diligently to pull as many residents into the activities as they can. They are very encouraging to the residents and always compliment their efforts.
The clinical coordinators do a wonderful job coordinating the day to day operations and are always pleasant and supportive when I have questions. They are very pleasant to interact with.
Since my background is in Hospital Environmental Care, the Maintenance Director and I have had several opportunities to compare notes, especially during the recent winter weather deal. He is always pleasant and professional.
I feel I've gotten to know the receptionists, on a personal basis. They are always helpful and pleasant.
The rest of the staff are always quick to help residents during and away from mealtimes. They work hard to keep harmony among the residents and make sure they get the nourishment they need. I've been impressed with the friendly demeanor they show when helping the residents and each other.
They have a wonderful team, and they have quite a challenge on a day-to-day basis. I think they do an exceptional job on a consistent basis and deserve a big pat on the back.

Placing my daughter in memory care was a very difficult decision for her husband and our family, especially since she is one of the youngest residents. From day one, Colonial Gardens has given us peace of mind. The staff is amazing—so kind, compassionate, and always welcoming when we visit.

It warms my heart to see her happy and even dancing in the parade on the way to lunch. The facility is always clean, and we love being able to sit outside together and enjoy the sunshine. I always leave with positive updates and, most importantly, comfort knowing she is content and well cared for.

This has allowed our family to simply enjoy time with her again, without the heavy burden of caretaking. We are so grateful for the staff at Colonial Gardens.

This place is not what they make it out to be. The personel running it didnt even call to offer sympathy or condolences after they let my mom fall, be sent to the hospital, and then pass away. They avoid contact with the family. They do not tell the whole story, they lie. This place is horrible!
