Very unprofessional supervisors, unable to properly schedule staff, many approach with a condescending and hostile tone and attitude. Not very friendly or hospitable. Facility seems nice and nurses seem to be kind even when overworked and understaffed as the location usually is due to the poor supervision and management

We are thrilled that our brother has the opportunity to reside at the Clifford Chester Sims State Veterans Nursing Home! EVERY staff member is attentive, caring and just WONDERFUL to work with! This facility is beautifully thought out and maintained ,the food for the residents is chefs quality and the physician, psyche care, social workers care , admission specialist and so many others have a genuine respect and compassion for him and his time in service to our Country! Thank you to our Florida VA for creating this amazing facility for our aging Veterans! It is stellar, in every regard!

This place is terribly managed. They are under staffed and disorganized. Most of the day staff are good, but the 3-11 shift is awful, not enough supervision. There are issues almost every day with my loved one and his care, very stressful environment. The Director lied to me on one occasion and problems are swept under the rug. UPDATE: 8/20/19 a new DON has helped this place, I have much less complaints of care. Raising from 2 stars to 3 stars...still need improvement in care, therapy and activities

Understaffed the doctors running this facility do not feel they need to communicate with family only "see" patient after dark usually on the mid night shift. Staff nurses and CNA do not get the credit they deserve. Communications major problem from top to bottom. I am a veteran and will never be in this facility or any other state run VA nursing home. Appearances can and are deceiving.
