I can not express my deepest gratitude enough for this remarkable group of individuals! They have become an integral part of my family’s life, providing us with unwavering support and care. Their actions have not only saved my father’s life but have also given him a renewed sense of purpose and outlook on life. While these facilities may not be flawless, it is important to recognize the dedication and efforts of everyone involved. If I could post zero stars I would. I went for the very first time to visit a friend who has been in there for three years. It was March 27, 2026. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I find it so interesting that only the five star reviews are getting responses by admin . That tells you something. Those 5 star ratings are Absolutely FAKE! If my review is exactly the same as a one star review three years ago that should tell you a lot about the upkeep of this facility. These are companies/ individuals that buy all of these facilities and they are billionaires as they suck the system dry for funding. When you don’t pay your employees a decent wage, the type of care you will is below standards. The elevator floor was coming apart and filthy! I entered FL 2 and the congestion in hallway was shocking. Residents wheeling themselves around while carts of lunch being distributed. Enter my friend’s room … the floor was filthy. Food on the baseboard, nightstand a mess and sub par bed and sink. There were 8 empty bottles of protein drink in drawer. No one cleans it . ( I did). I didn’t dare look under the bed. The entire facility smells. Was there 2 hours and never saw anyone cleaning anywhere! I used the public bathroom and got nauseous. My friend does not get out of bed ( most by choice) but they could try and get him in wheelchair. No one gives a damn. He is a breeding ground for bed sores! Please do NOT consider going here. I would not put my dog in there. Look up owners and their net worth. I really don’t know how they sleep at night. Deplorable conditions

I have my brother-in-law staying at the Citadel of Skokie. He has had operations, different types of infections, and several emergency room visits, and the staff at Citadel were committed to seeing him through every incident. Citadel has been a lifesaver for my brother. I can not imagine him being anywhere else.
