My experience with Cherry Point is far from good. There are some nice Nurses but the ones that work in that Finance Office is a different story. The main one is Joyce Stinson. Cherry Point Bay has continue to and put false information in my Aunts file to gain control over her assets. They went to court and to DHHS and stated that my Aunt had “dementia” (which is a lie). It was to gain control over her SS and a pension ( that she does not have). I was the POA over her finance so they were trying to say they were not getting paid. I have all receipts of payments that I was told to pay. My Aunt has taken a test for dementia and passed it and court, DHHS and Cherry Point Bay still refuse to make the correction. On December 10, 2025, at that time I was the POA over my aunt’s finance a paper was signed by me to give over my aunts SS. I have copies and a recording with Joyce Stinson. Why or why not she did not do her job in getting this done! On December 12, 2025, I was called to come to court in Jones County. A lot of lies and underhanded was done and said. Not one time, did anyone DHHS, the so called attorney(s) to talk to my aunt. I tried to ask them about what this was all about and no would tell me. On the end of court day, I was told that DHHS was taken over her finances. That might I was not to do anything when it came to her SS. My only part of my Aunts after December 12 was to be a family member. Now they have been threaten to kick her out because they do not have control over her SS. DHHS of Jones County and Cherry Point Bay has been saying untruth about my character. Please ask for copies of your love one’s records because they will put untruth about their care. It is all about money.

My husband was there about a year ago and the rehab was great Lori and her staff got him up and moving 6 weeks ago he had a stroke and we asked for him to go back to Cherry Point Bay for rehab and hope he will be able to go home soon. There are a lot of carrying people there who do their best to take care of the patients but they are sometime so short staffed it is hard. Thank you for taking care of him Barbara Smith

My mother was placed there. While there was some good staff, most of our experience was not good. Some of our experiences were horrific. My very first visit i found mom on the floor with her arm trapped under her, on the fall mattress. It took over 45 minutes to get help to get her up. During my wait, someone uncaringly dropped food out of reach for mom. Ironically, when I met with the staff the next day, a blonde lady at physical therapy lied to me and then doubled down on her lies. She told me that she had fed my mom the night she was on the floor. She was unaware mom had fallen. It took me about a month to realize she had fallen and that was why she was on the mattress that way. There were several more falls when she was there, but only three were reported. I'm so glad my mom was so out of it, she likely didn't understand what was going on. Unfortunately her roommate, a retired nurse, was glaringly aware. I felt so bad for her that we visited with her almost every day when we visited. The staff was negligent at best until mom got transferred to hospice. At that point they started calling every day asking ridiculous questions, like "would my (unable to speak or communicate) mother like to meet with the psychiatrist weekly ? Would we like her (a lady dying) vaccinated? And best of all we're calling to see if these phone numbers work?" Of course, every time they called, we thought mom was dying. Management pulled her credit report without consent. They got very angry and obstructive early on when we refused to use thier medicaid done right company. I don't know what type of monetary kick back management gets from this company, but I'm fairly sure that's what's happening. Mom was on self pay and it was 11k. The faucet screamed and leaked, the food looked inedible and often she didn't have any water. They also tried to change medicines recommended by the hospice doctor. It got so bad we decided she'd be much better at home and we both quit our businesses to bring her home. She died two weeks shy of us bringing her home. During her short life at this facility, she was rarely moved out if her bed. I think in the threeishmonths she was maybe in a chair five times. We all know end of life care is a thing that happens, but after this experience, I hope to God, I never have to end up in a place like this. It literally felt like a third world country.

This facility is superior! All the staff go above and beyond to make residents comfortable and happy! I really appreciate the great care you all provide to my grandmother. She speaks highly of everyone that works there. She goes on and on about the new Activities Director Madison, and what fun and energy she has brought to the facility! We really appreciate your dedication and detail to your job! Cherry Point Bay is by far the best facility that we have had our beloved family member in, and I would highly recommend this home away from home!
